A sway bar ties the left and right sides of the suspension together to cut body roll, and the end links connect the bar between the axle and the frame. Out back, these trucks ride on a Hotchkiss leaf-spring rear with springs longer than 66 inches. Lift the truck 4 inches and the frame sits farther from the axle, so stock-length links leave the bar at the wrong angle. The BDS link kit is sized for a 4-inch lift, which keeps the bar working at the new height.

Why end links wear and why the year matters

Sway-bar end links are on the standard wear list for this chassis, alongside track-bar bushings, radius-arm bushings, ball joints and the steering damper. They are also year-specific on the Super Duty: the 2008-2010 trucks use a link with a bushing at the top and the bottom. When you replace links on a lifted truck, buy for the lift height and the year, not just the make.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need this link kit if my truck is at stock height or only leveled?

No. The kit is built for a 4-inch lift. A front-only leveling kit doesn't raise the rear, so the factory links stay the right length. Worn stock links are a different job: replace them with links that match your 2008-2010 truck.

Will it fit a 2WD F-250?

The listing calls out 4WD trucks from 2000 through 2016. If you have a 2WD truck, call the shop before ordering so we can check it for you.
