2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke Suspension Air Bags

Air springs and on-board air for 2008-2010 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 pickups with the 6.4L Powerstroke, all from Air Lift. These kits work with the factory rear leaf springs to bring a loaded truck back toward level. Pick the helper spring kit for your model first, then decide whether you want a compressor and controller or will air the bags up by hand.

Air springs on the 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke

The rear of these Powerstroke Super Dutys is a Hotchkiss leaf-spring setup with springs longer than 66 inches, and Ford gave each model its own spring and axle ratings. A single-rear-wheel F-250 or F-350 runs a Sterling 10.5 rear axle, while dually and F-450 trucks use heavier Dana units. Air springs mount between the frame and the axle alongside the leafs. Add air and they carry part of the load, so a truck with a camper or heavy tongue weight sits closer to level. Because the rear end differs by model, air spring kits are built for specific trucks.

Choosing the parts

Start with the helper spring kit. Air Lift offers the LoadLifter 5000 and LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in different kit numbers, plus the stainless steel Ultimate Plus upgrade. If your ride height isn't stock, the 2, 4 and 6-inch air spring spacers, the 4 and 6-inch angled spacers and the universal air spring cradle help the bags fit. Next, decide how you'll fill them. The WirelessONE and WirelessAIR compressor systems add on-board air, with EZ Mount tank options, and the WirelessAIR control system is app-only per its listing. The Single Load Controller II and the Heavy Duty Dual Load Controller are the other route, and Air Lift also sells a replacement on-board compressor and air hose.

Fitment notes

Match the helper spring kit to your model, drivetrain and rear wheel setup with the fitment checker before you order. The 6.4L F-450 pickup came only as a dually crew cab with an 8-foot box, so treat it as its own fitment. Universal pieces like the cradle and spacers depend on your ride height, so measure first or call us.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a compressor with Air Lift helper springs?

No. The helper spring kits can be aired up by hand. A compressor system like WirelessONE or WirelessAIR adds on-board air so you can adjust pressure as the load changes without hunting for an air hose.

When do I need air spring spacers?

When the gap between the frame and axle doesn't match what the kit was built for, usually on a lifted truck. Air Lift sells straight spacers in 2, 4 and 6 inches and angled spacers in 4 and 6 inches. Measure before you order, or call the shop and we'll help.
