2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke Exterior Parts

This page collects exterior parts for 2008-2010 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty pickups with the 6.4L Powerstroke: cab and body mount kits, a urethane roll pan, sled stops and license plate brackets. The one thing to know: Ford changed the front sheet metal, lighting and bumpers for 2011, so front-end parts from a newer Super Duty will not fit your truck.

Exterior parts on the 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke

These trucks are the second-generation Super Duty with the 2008 restyle: a new grille, headlights and hood that set them apart from the 2005-2007 trucks and from the 2011 redesign. Ford added a concealed tailgate step with a swing-up grab bar and offered power telescoping, folding mirrors. Harley-Davidson trucks got blacked-out headlights and 20-inch wheels, base F-350s rode on 17-inch steel wheels, and the F-450 pickup ran 19.5-inch 10-lug wheels. Underneath, the cab sits on mounts bolted to the frame, and Ford drives those body-to-frame bolts from the bottom up, a detail it pointed out to body builders. For the rest of the truck, start at the Powerstroke hub.

What wears out and why

There is no documented exterior or body-mount failure pattern specific to 2008-2010 Super Dutys. What shows up is age. Bushings break down, steel rusts, and the newest of these trucks is now more than 15 years old. Owners describe the signs as cab shake, a clunk from under the cab, and corrosion on the mounts and hardware. Treat those as wear, not a defect, and inspect every mount and bracket before you order so you replace all the worn parts in one trip under the truck.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

For body mounts, OEM-style bushings with new hardware are the baseline replacement. Aftermarket kits, including silicone designs, are the alternative. We don't have solid data comparing mount materials on this generation of truck, so choose by cab style, by what hardware the kit includes, and by whether you're doing every position at once. Out back, a urethane roll pan replaces the factory rear bumper with a smooth panel. If you go that route, sort out the license plate at the same time; BHP's plate brackets, including a flip-up version, are on this page.

What we carry

Big Hitch Products (BHP) supplies the rear-end pieces: the BHP7001 urethane roll pan listed for 2008-2016 6.4L and 6.7L trucks, clamp-on sled stops that mount either below the roll pan (BHP3000) or behind it (BHP3001), the BHP4001 flip-up license plate bracket and the BHP4009 license plate mount bracket. For the cab, S&B builds silicone body mount kits split by cab style, Daystar offers the KF04060BK body mount kit, No Limit Fabrication makes the 0816BM body mounts, and SPE Motorsport builds the S300100 cab mounts.

Fitment notes

Cab style decides the body mount kit. S&B lists its 81-1002 kit for Regular Cab and SuperCab trucks (shown as RCab and ECab) and its 81-1003 kit for Crew Cab trucks. The mount kits and the BHP roll pan are listed for 2008-2016 6.4L and 6.7L Powerstroke trucks, so go by the year range in each title. Front-end parts are the exception: front sheet metal, lighting and bumpers are year-range specific, and 2011-and-later pieces do not fit a 2008-2010 truck. The sled stops and plate brackets don't name a truck in their titles, so read the mounting details on each product page. Verify by VIN when in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know my cab mounts are worn?

The usual signs are cab shake, a clunk from under the cab, and rust on the mounts and hardware. On these trucks that's age-related wear rather than a known defect, so any Super Duty still on its original mounts is worth a look. The mounts bolt in from below, so a good inspection happens from under the truck.

Will exterior parts from a 2011 or newer Super Duty fit my 2008-2010 truck?

Not on the front end. Ford changed the front sheet metal, lighting and bumpers for the 2011 redesign, so those parts are year-range specific. Some cab and rear parts are a different case: the mount kits and BHP roll pan here are listed for 2008-2016 trucks. Trust the year range in the product title.

Which S&B body mount kit fits my F-250 or F-350?

It depends on the cab. S&B 81-1002 is listed for Regular Cab and SuperCab trucks, and 81-1003 is listed for Crew Cab trucks. If you're unsure which you have, look at the back doors: a SuperCab has rear-hinged rear doors, and a Crew Cab has four full doors.

Do you install body mounts and roll pans?

Yes. We install everything we sell at our shop in Wildwood, FL. Cab mount replacement is routine work on these trucks because the body-to-frame bolts are driven from the bottom up, and we can check the rest of the mounting hardware while the truck is on the lift.
