F-250 and single-rear-wheel F-350 pickups with the 6.4L Powerstroke use the Sterling 10.5 rear, with a 10.5-inch ring gear and 35-spline, 1.5-inch shafts. Duallies and F-450/F-550 trucks use heavier Dana rears, and Ford's lube chart lists the Dana 80 and the S110, S130 and S135. Rear lube is SAE 75W-90 to 75W-140, with capacity running from 3.45 to 12.25 quarts depending on the axle, so a cover swap is a good time to refill with the right grade and amount.

Fitment notes
Match the cover to the housing. A Sterling 10.25/10.5 cover is for that axle; a truck with a Dana 80 or S-series rear needs a part made for that housing, and the axle tag is how you confirm which one you have. The BD Diesel and SPE Motorsport Sterling covers are titled for single-rear-wheel trucks, so check each listing against your truck. Mahle gaskets are sold by part number; match the number to your cover and axle.
Frequently asked questions
Which rear cover fits a 2008-2010 F-350 dually?
Duallies use heavier Dana rears instead of the Sterling 10.5, so start with the axle tag. If the tag says Dana 80, the Mag-Hytec 80 cover in this collection is listed for 1999-2016 F-350 trucks. Other Dana rears need a part made for that housing, so call us with the tag information.
Is a Sterling 10.25 cover the same as a 10.5 cover?
The covers here are sold for both: the PPE, Mag-Hytec, SPE Motorsport and BD Diesel titles all list 10.25 and 10.5 together. On a 2008-2010 F-250 or single-rear-wheel F-350, the rear axle is the Sterling 10.5.
Which Mahle gasket do I need?
Match the part number to your cover and axle on the product page. P32716 is listed as a rear cover gasket for 1999-2023 Power Stroke trucks, P38155TC lists 1994-2023, and P18562 and P38163TC list 1994-2016 Power Stroke fitment. Call us if the listings leave you unsure.
