Fitment

Fits 1999-2003 Ford trucks with the 7.3L Power Stroke (all Power Stroke parts). A rotomolded battery tray is part of how the kit fits the truck, and it is designed to work with all the stock sensors. Why this part

S&B engineered this kit to minimize air restriction on the 7.3L. In S&B's testing it flows 53.66% better than stock and filters at a 99.37% efficiency rating, and S&B lists increased horsepower and torque among its features. The filter lives in a fully enclosed airbox that protects it from dirt and keeps engine heat out, while the silicone seals direct cooler air in from the stock opening.

S&B redesigned this system around an even larger air filter and air box for more airflow. All of the components combine to install as one solid unit rather than a loose collection of parts, and S&B's signature clear lid lets you see the filter without opening anything.
