The S&B Filters 82-1000 MAP Sensor Spacer Kit will extend the life of the MAP sensor in your GM 6.6L L5P Duramax. The spacer is designed to drastically decrease the amount of soot that accumulates on the MAP sensor itself by spacing it away from the direct stream of the EGR. The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and PCV (Positive Crank Case Ventilation) systems within your engine play an important role in managing combustion temperature, reducing NOx emissions, and ensuring that harmful gasses are not released into the atmosphere. These systems draw in unburnt exhaust gases and oil vapor into the combustion chambers, leading to lower combustion temperatures and reduced NOx production.
