Fitment

Fits 1994-1998 5.9L Cummins 12-valve trucks and 1998.5-2002 5.9L Cummins 24-valve trucks. The kit mounts to the truck's stock mounting positions and uses a custom fender seal shaped to fit the engine bay. Why this part

Intake air temperature and restriction both matter on a diesel. The cooler the air, the greater the density, and denser air means better performance. The 75-5090 works on both. Its one-piece air box has an integrated box seal that keeps unwanted engine heat out, and the fender seal closes the box against the fender wall. A secondary inlet lowers the restriction level for better airflow. The high-flow air tube has minimal obstructions between the air box and the engine, so the cooler air gets there with less in the way.

S&B says the kit increases flow, horsepower and torque, and that it engineers its intakes to run properly with stock calibration or enhanced tuning. The filter protects the engine as well as it flows: S&B rates the washable, reusable oiled media at 99.22% efficient at 529 CFM on ISO Coarse Dust.
