The PPE 219020000 is a stainless steel replacement for the plastic HVAC heater hose connector on 2007.5-2024 Dodge and Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins. PPE also lists it for 2017-2019 Duramax trucks. Owners buy it because the plastic connector fatigues from heat and vibration, and stainless holds up for the life of the truck.
Fitment
On the Cummins side, our engine tags cover the 6.7L Cummins from 2007.5 on, and PPE titles the part for 2007.5-2024. That means 2007.5-2024 Dodge and Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups with the 6.7L. Ram changed the engine and front end for 2025, so cooling parts for 2025 and newer trucks shouldn't be assumed to match earlier listings. This connector is not listed for them.
PPE's title also names 2017-2019 Duramax trucks, but it doesn't say which Duramax engine or model. Our fitment tags don't cover the Duramax side, so if you're buying for a GM truck, verify fitment by VIN or call us first.
Why this part
The factory HVAC heater hose connectors are plastic, and they are a common failure point. The older the part gets, the more heat and vibration fatigue it. A small plastic fitting in the cooling system is not where you want a weak link.
PPE's fix is to make the connector out of stainless steel. You get durability and corrosion resistance that PPE says will last the life of your vehicle. Once it's in, that's one plastic cooling-system part you can stop thinking about.
If the cooling system is open anyway, check the cap while you're at it. On 2010-2018 trucks, a cooling system cap that holds only 5-6 psi instead of 16 psi cuts your boil-over margin, so it's worth a pressure test. And refill with the coolant your truck calls for. Mixing coolant chemistries is an avoidable mistake.
What you get
- One PPE 219020000 stainless steel heater hose connector
- Replaces the factory plastic HVAC heater hose connector
About PPE
PPE, short for Pacific Performance Engineering, was founded in 1985 and is based in North Las Vegas, Nevada. It started out on the 6.6L Duramax and later added Ram Cummins and Ford Powerstroke parts. Cooling parts sit alongside its exhaust, transmission, fuel system and steering lines.
Frequently asked questions
Does this fit my Duramax?
PPE's title lists 2017-2019 Duramax trucks. Our fitment tags only cover the 6.7L Cummins, so verify fitment by VIN or call us before you order it for a GM truck.
Why stainless instead of another plastic connector?
Plastic connectors fatigue from heat and vibration, which is why they're a common failure point. Stainless steel gives you durability and corrosion resistance, and PPE says it lasts the life of the vehicle.
What coolant should I refill with on my Cummins?
Use what your owner's manual calls for. Coolant chemistry and service intervals differ between 2007.5-2012 trucks (97,500 miles) and 2013-2018 trucks (150,000 miles), and 2019-and-newer trucks use Mopar 10-year/150,000-mile OAT coolant. Check the manual before you mix anything.
