The PPE 119021034 EGR Cooler Coolant Feed Hose is a heat-resistant silicone replacement for the factory rubber coolant hose on 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the 6.6L LML Duramax. Owners buy it when the factory rubber hose has degraded and they want a hose that stands up to heat.
Fitment
This hose is listed for 2011-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and 3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups with the 6.6L LML Duramax. The LML only went in heavy-duty pickups, never the 1500. It is not listed for the earlier LB7, LLY, LBZ or LMM engines or for the 2017 and newer L5P, so match the part to your engine code. Verify fitment by VIN, or call us before you order.
Why this part
The LML's cooling system does more than cool the engine. Along with the radiator, the surge tank and the turbo's water-cooled center section, it supplies coolant to two EGR coolers, and the feed hose is part of that circuit. Over time the factory rubber coolant hose degrades. PPE's replacement is a durable, heat-resistant silicone hose, so you are not putting another rubber hose back on. It is a maintenance part for the factory system, not a modification.
If coolant loss is what sent you looking, check the whole circuit. EGR cooler clogging is listed among the common LML problems, with white smoke, coolant loss and overheating as the symptoms, and fouled coolers restrict coolant flow, which raises exhaust gas and coolant temperatures under load. Pressure test the system before you start replacing parts. A bad cap, seal or crack shows up as a pressure drop, which helps you find the real leak before you buy parts.
What you get
- One PPE 119021034 EGR cooler coolant feed hose
- Durable, heat-resistant silicone construction in place of the factory rubber hose
About PPE
PPE, short for Pacific Performance Engineering, dates to 1985 and is based in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The 6.6L Duramax is where it built its name, and cooling parts are one of the lines it designs for late-model diesel pickups, next to exhaust, transmission, fuel system and steering parts.
Frequently asked questions
Why silicone instead of rubber?
The factory rubber hose degrades over time. PPE builds this one from durable, heat-resistant silicone to replace it.
What coolant should I refill with?
GM specifies DEX-COOL mixed 50/50 with distilled water for the LML. Top off with that after the swap.
Will a new hose fix my coolant loss?
Only if the hose is the leak. EGR cooler clogging is a known LML problem, and a bad cap, seal or crack elsewhere can cause loss too. Pressure test the system first so you replace the right part.
