The PPE 118062052 is a single gasket for the exhaust manifold to up-pipe connection, the lower up-pipe gasket, on 2017-2026 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks with the L5P 6.6L Duramax. Why this part
On the L5P, exhaust leaves each bank through a manifold and an up-pipe on its way to the valley-mounted BorgWarner variable-geometry turbo. The lower up-pipe gasket seals the first joint in that path. When it fails, you have an exhaust leak at the manifold before the gas ever reaches the turbo.
Exhaust leaks are one of the causes to rule out when an L5P is throwing emissions-related faults, so a fresh gasket at this joint is a simple way to cross that off the list. PPE also offers a stainless up-pipe gasket set, 118062050, for leak repairs at the up-pipes. This 118062052 is the single lower gasket for when that one joint is all you need.
