PPE 114000750 Premium High-Efficiency Oversized Oil Filter (2020-2026 Duramax)

Fitment

Fits the 6.6L L5P Duramax in 2020-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD pickups. It takes the place of the AC Delco PF26 that PPE says the 2020-2023 trucks used and the PF63 the Duramax moved to in 2024. Because this filter is deeper than stock, PPE requires the 114002700 Fuel Coolant Pump Relocation Bracket Kit to install it; see Installation notes below.

PPE's comparison notes call the 114000750 compatible with 2020-2024 Duramax trucks. We list it through 2026, so on a 2025 or 2026, verify fitment by VIN or call us. It does not fit 2017-2019 L5P trucks; those take the PF2232-size filter, which does not interchange with the 2020-and-newer filter.

Why this part

An oil filter's job is to keep contaminants from wearing out the oil and the engine internals it protects. PPE's problem with the OEM filter on 2020-and-newer L5P trucks is size and sealing: 259 square inches of 25-micron media, held by a weak leaf spring that lets the seal quality drop so dirty oil can blow past the media unfiltered.

The 114000750 goes big. Its 522 square inches of ultra-fine synthetic microfiber MicroPure XR® media is a 100% increase over the OEM filter, at a 5-micron nominal rating. An integrated pleat-locking spiral bead of adhesive keeps the pleats secured and evenly spaced so filtration stays consistent across the whole element. A heavy-duty coil spring seals the media end cap to the base plate and stops blow-by, and a high-temperature-rated neodymium magnet traps ferrous particles before they can clog the media, which PPE says extends filter and oil life.

Where PPE says competitors run an unsealed bypass valve, this filter's bypass uses a steel-NBR poppet and a precision coil spring so it seals properly and performs consistently. A heat-resistant silicone anti-drainback valve keeps oil in the filter after the engine is turned off, for protection against dry starts.

A word on the factory numbers. PPE notes that the PF63 brought larger passage holes for improved flow, but it is the same filter used on the 5.3L Small Block, with smaller filtration media that clogs more easily. GM lists the PF63 as its recommended filter for 2020-and-newer L5P trucks, with the PF26 still compatible, and the PF26 has since been superseded to the PF63B. PPE says this filter beats both the PF26 and the PF63 on flow, capacity and protection.

Installation notes

Note: PPE's 114002700 Fuel Coolant Pump Relocation Bracket Kit is required for the install of this deep filter. Have the bracket kit on hand before you start the oil change. TorqSTOP helps keep the filter from being over-tightened once it is on.

How much bigger is it than the stock filter?

It has 522 square inches of media against the OEM filter's 259, a 100% increase, and it is rated at 5 microns nominal where the OEM filter is rated at 25.

Will it fit my 2017-2019 L5P?

No. The 2017-2019 trucks use the PF2232-size filter, which does not interchange with the 2020-and-newer filter. PPE 114000555 is the MicroPure XR filter for those trucks.
