The PPE 114000650 MicroPure is an upgraded engine oil filter for the 3.0L Duramax in 2020-2026 GM vehicles, including Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. It replaces the AC Delco PF66 and gives you 222 square inches of 10-micron media where the factory filter offers 133 square inches rated at 20 microns.

Fitment

Fits the 3.0L Duramax inline-six (LM2 and LZ0), 2020-2026, including Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups. It is a direct replacement for the AC Delco PF66, so if a PF66 is what comes off your engine today, this is the filter that goes back on.

We list this filter for 2020-2026 trucks. If yours is a 2019, verify fitment by VIN or call us before you order. This filter is not for the 6.6L Duramax in the 2500HD and 3500HD trucks; for a 2020-and-newer 6.6L L5P, see PPE 114000740 or 114000750.

Why this part

The oil filter is your engine's first line of defense against contaminants that degrade oil performance and shorten oil life. Let those contaminants through and they cause premature wear on engine internals, and over time that can lead to failure. PPE's case against the OEM filter on the 3.0L comes down to two things. It only offers 133 square inches of 20-micron filtration, and it holds the media with a weak leaf spring. That weak spring reduces seal quality and lets dirty oil blow past the media without being filtered.

The PPE filter gives you 222 square inches of filtration area, a 70% increase over the OEM filter. Its ultra-fine synthetic-blend MicroPure media is engineered for a 10-micron nominal rating. A heavy-duty coil spring takes the place of the leaf spring and keeps the media end cap sealed to the base plate, which eliminates dirty oil blow-by. An integrated high-temperature-rated neodymium magnet captures ferrous particles before they can clog the media, which PPE says extends both filter life and oil life.

Start-ups are covered too. A heat-resistant silicone anti-drainback valve keeps oil in the filter after you shut the engine off, so the next start is not a dry one.

What you get

  • PPE MicroPure engine oil filter, part number 114000650
  • Direct replacement for the AC Delco PF66

Specifications

  • MicroPure® filtration with a 10-micron nominal rating
  • 222 Square inches of synthetic-blend media, a 70% increase over the stock filter
  • Integrated high-temperature rated neodymium magnet captures ferrous particles, providing extra engine protection
  • High-strength steel base plate with increased thread engagement and larger oil passages
  • Durable metal center tube provides excellent media support and pressure resistance
  • TorqSTOP™ Technology prevents over-tightening and reinforces the gasket against high oil pressures
  • Silicone anti-drainback valve delivers superior protection during engine start-ups
  • Heavy-duty coil spring ensures a secure seal and prevents oil blow-by, maximizing filtration performance
  • Direct replacement for AC Delco PF66

Burst pressure rating: 450 PSI. PPE credits that to the filter's heavy-duty construction, a high-strength steel base plate with increased thread engagement and large oil passages plus a durable metal center tube for rigid media support and pressure resistance, and to TorqSTOP™ Technology, which prevents over-tightening and reinforces the rubber gasket.

About PPE

PPE, short for Pacific Performance Engineering, has built diesel truck parts out of North Las Vegas, Nevada since 1985. The company got its start on the 6.6L Duramax and now covers Ram Cummins and Ford Power Stroke trucks too, with exhaust, transmission, fuel system, cooling and steering parts alongside its MicroPure oil filters.

Frequently asked questions

Does this filter fit the 6.6L Duramax?

No. It is sized for the 3.0L Duramax, such as in the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, and replaces the AC Delco PF66. For a 2020-and-newer 6.6L L5P, look at PPE 114000740 or 114000750.

What does 10-micron versus 20-micron mean?

The micron rating is the particle size the media is built to stop. PPE rates this filter at 10 microns nominal against the factory filter's 20, so it is built to catch particles half the size, and it does it across 222 square inches of media instead of 133.

Why does the anti-drainback valve matter?

It keeps oil in the filter after shutdown, so the engine does not start with an empty filter. PPE uses a heat-resistant silicone valve for better protection during start-ups.
