The Mean Green 1398 is a 220-amp high output alternator for 2003-2007 Dodge Ram trucks with the 5.9L Cummins. It mounts on the stock brackets, plugs into the stock harness and puts out up to 300% more charging power than the factory unit, for trucks running winches, light bars, inverters, audio or plow gear.
Fitment
Listed for the 5.9L Cummins common-rail engine in 2003-2007 Dodge Ram trucks. Mind the year split: a 2007.5 truck has the 6.7L, so this alternator is for the 5.9L 2007 trucks, not the later 6.7L ones. Verify by VIN or call us if you are not sure what is under the hood. Installation notes
Special new castings let the 1398 use the stock bracketry and bolt hole locations, so it mounts where the factory alternator came off. The stock wiring harness can be used too, so it plugs in without rewiring.
