The MAHLE GS33555 Fuel Injector Seal Kit gives your 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke an OEM replacement seal kit for the injectors. It is made to meet factory specifications and maintains stock performance. You need it any time an injector comes out, because old seals should not go back in.
Fitment
Fits the 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Power Stroke: F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickups, the F-450 Super Duty pickup, and F-450/F-550 chassis cabs. The 6.4L is a one-generation engine. Its K16 pump and piezo injectors are unique to it, and 6.0L HEUI or 6.7L Bosch parts do not interchange, so order injector parts for the 6.4L specifically. Verify fitment by VIN or call us. Why this part
The 6.4L runs eight piezo injectors, and they fail from contaminants and internal leakage: varnish that makes them stick, a nozzle stuck open, or a leaking body. The signs are hard starts, rough idle, misfire, a fuel smell in the oil and a rising oil level. In the worst case a bad injector melts a piston or hydrolocks a cylinder with no warning light. When injectors get replaced, the accepted practice on this engine is to do them as a complete set with new seal kits rather than one at a time. Full gasket kits for 6.4L head work include injector reseal kits alongside the head, exhaust manifold and valve cover gaskets.
Contaminated fuel is the usual cause, so look before you buy. Pull the HFCM filter bowl and check for white crystalline residue. If it is there, the fuel was contaminated with DEF and the whole fuel system is condemned, not just the injectors. Going forward, drain the HFCM water separator every one to two weeks and change both fuel filters on schedule. That is the single most effective insurance for the K16 pump.
