A brand-new, fully upgraded E41 ECM for the 2017-2023 L5P Duramax, already set up for tuning with HP Tuners VCM Suite. Instead of pulling your original controller and sending it in for servicing, you install this one and get the truck back up and running. It's for the owner who's short on time and needs an upgraded E41 ECM ASAP.
Fitment
This is the E41 engine control module for the L5P 6.6L Duramax in 2017-2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks. Verify fitment by VIN. The 2023 cutoff matters: for 2024, GM revised the L5P's pistons, heads, injectors and rails, valve springs, turbo and ECM, so don't assume a 2024 or newer truck takes this part. If you're unsure, call the shop with your VIN before you order.
Why this part
The other way to get an upgraded E41 is to send your original controller in for servicing. This option skips that. You purchase a brand-new E41 ECM that's already upgraded, install it, and finish the setup on your end. It's ideal if you want the truck up and running as quickly as possible instead of waiting on your own controller to come back.
Once it's in, the ECM is licensed with HP Tuners Universal Credits and tuned through VCM Suite with an MPVI2, MPVI2+ or MPVI3 interface. The credits aren't included in this purchase and you need your own interface, so line them up ahead of time and you won't be stuck waiting on a second order.

Installation notes
Once you install the brand-new, already upgraded E41 ECM, you must follow HP Tuners' E41 installation steps. HP Tuners publishes them as a PDF. Get the current version from HP Tuners, or call us and we'll point you to it.
Everything you need to tune your GM E41 ECM (L5P) vehicle with HP Tuners:
- Select one of the two options available above: Upgrade or Purchase.
- Download the latest version of VCM Suite BETA for free from the HP Tuners downloads page.
- Once upgraded, purchase (6) Universal Credits to license your upgraded ECM.
- Make sure you have an MPVI2, MPVI2+, or MPVI3 interface.
- Purchase a new MPVI3 through us.
- Purchase 6 Universal Credits through us.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to send my original ECM in?
No. This option gets you a brand-new E41 ECM that's already upgraded, so you aren't sending your original controller in for servicing and waiting for it to come back.
Are the Universal Credits included?
No. Universal Credits for licensing aren't included in the cost of any upgrade service or purchase. Plan on buying (6) Universal Credits to license the upgraded ECM, plus an MPVI2, MPVI2+ or MPVI3 interface if you don't already have one.
Will it work on my 2024 or newer L5P?
It's listed for 2017-2023 trucks. GM revised the ECM along with the pistons, heads, injectors and turbo for 2024, so don't assume this part carries over. Call us with your VIN and we'll confirm what your truck needs.
