The Hot Shot's Secret EDT + Winter Defense Fuel Additive EDTWAG1QT will enhance the fuel in your diesel-powered car, truck, van, or SUV. EDT+ Winter Defense is Hot Shot's Everyday Diesel Treatment with added anti-gel properties. It is a fully formulated 7-in-1 diesel treatment to help prevent diesel fuel from gelling and icing. It contains a powerful cetane booster, LX4 lubricity additive, keep-clean detergent package, and deicer chemicals.

EDT+ WINTER DEFENSE helps prevent paraffin wax precipitation during cold weather by minimizing the size of the wax crystals and allowing the fuel to travel through the fuel filter at temperatures 20F below the cloud point (wax solidification point) of the diesel fuel.

Diesel fuel that had been treated with EDT+ Winter Defense becomes a "PREMIUM" diesel fuel. The cetane improver in EDT+ consists of special nitrates which are pro-oxidants, and which speed up the oxidative process of fuels during combustion, giving more power and helping to improve mileage. EDT+ provides substantially increased ignition efficiency with all diesel fuels. In addition, EDT+ prevents gum and sludge from forming. Corrosion is prevented by an inhibitor that produces a protective non-deposit-forming film on metal surfaces in the fuel system and neutralizes corrosive acids formed during combustion. An important component of EDT+ is a special demulsifier that disperses condensed moisture. Condensed water in fuels is a major cause of rust, icing in cold weather, and the growth of microorganisms in warm weather. Operation of diesel engines is noticeably improved when corrosion and the growth of bacteria are prevented. EDT+ contains an exclusive polar lubricity additive to prevent wear without altering fuel viscosity.

EDT+ is extremely effective in middle distillate fuels to enhance combustion and ignition efficiency, enhance fuel economy, and maintain fuel in a clean, stabilized condition. The sulfur content of this diesel fuel additive does not go beyond 15 ppm.

The reason for better performance with EDT+ is that cetane improvement in the fuel gives a smoother, less erratic pressure buildup in the combustion chamber during the ignition delay period, which occurs between injection and ignition. Controlling this pressure buildup with EDT+ eliminates potential damage to piston rings and rod bearings.

Power and fuel economy are increased as fuel burns more evenly and cleanly. Misfiring is controlled. When ignition improves, emissions are decreased, and noise levels are lowered. Controlling the pressure build-up allows more complete burning of the refractive molecules in the fuel, which steal power and produce deposits and wear.

Add EdT+ Winter Defense to diesel fuel before wax starts to form (near freezing temperatures). Use at every fill-up. Use the performance dose for additional cetane boost, fuel lubricity, and a lower pour point. Performance dose is required when temperatures are below 0F.
