The Fleece FPE-CTDT-VGT-KIT is a turbo drain tube kit for 2007.5-2018 Dodge and Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins and a factory VGT turbo. It takes the place of the stiff factory drain tube, Chrysler part No. 68005450AA, with a formed silicone hose and billet fittings. You buy it so the drain line goes back on easily during a turbo job.
Fitment
Fits the 6.7L Cummins from 2007.5 through 2018: the 2007.5-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 and the 2010-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups. Fleece designed it for all 6.7L Cummins-equipped Ram factory VGT turbochargers in those years and for aftermarket drop-in replacements like the Fleece Cheetah Series. The factory turbo itself changed, from the HE351VE on 2010-2012 trucks to the HE300VG on 2013-2018 trucks, and those turbos do not interchange. This drain kit is listed for both.
Chassis cab trucks share the engine but use different frames, filters and exhaust routing, so confirm chassis cab fitment separately. For 2019-2024 trucks, Fleece makes a different drain tube kit. Verify by VIN or call us. More parts for these engines are in our Cummins section.
Why this part
Fighting a non-flexible factory drain line is one of the headaches of a turbo install. Fleece answered it with a formed silicone hose that has a larger ID and a smooth bore, with black anodized billet aluminum fittings and integral O-rings at the connections. The hose design is protected under US Patent D1,031,948 with more patents pending. The point is a simpler turbocharger install and proper oil drainage from the turbo once it is running.
The turbo is a common repair on these trucks. On 2007.5-2009 engines the VGT nozzle ring and vanes coat with soot, oil and ash and stop moving freely, which brings lag, surging and a weak exhaust brake. Hard failures on early 6.7Ls include oil seals leaking into the housings, wheel damage and worn bearings with shaft end play. On 2010-2018 trucks a stuck nozzle ring is fixed by disassembly and manual cleaning, and oil seals, wheels, speed sensors and bearings fail too. Will it fit my 2021 Ram 3500?
No. This kit stops at 2018. Fleece makes a separate drain tube kit for 2019-2024 trucks.
