The Dynomite Diesel DDP9802CON-SET is a brand new OEM connector tube set for the 1998.5-2002 5.9L 24-valve Cummins in the Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500. It is sold as a set of 6 tubes with 6 O-rings, so every cylinder gets a new tube and seal in one order.
Fitment
Dodge 98.5-02 24v: the 1998.5-2002 5.9L 24-valve Cummins in the Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500, the only second-gen Rams that came with the Cummins. Some 24-valve parts change between 1998.5-1999 and 2000-2002 trucks, so 'fits 24-valve' is usually not enough on its own. This set is listed for the full 1998.5-2002 run. The 2003 truck switched to a common-rail fuel system, and 2003 fuel parts do not carry back to the second-gen. Verify fitment by VIN or call us.
Why this part
The 24-valve runs a Bosch VP44 rotary pump feeding six mechanical injectors. Connector tubes carry fuel from the injection lines into the injectors, and the O-rings seal each tube. When the injectors come out, whether for stock replacements or a performance set, this is the hardware that goes back in with them. A set of six covers all six cylinders, so you are not mixing new and old pieces across the engine.
If you are into the fuel system anyway, keep the platform in mind. The VP44 depends on lift-pump supply to stay cooled and lubricated, and a starved pump can overheat or seize the rotor. The factory block-mounted lift pump is a wear item with no fixed failure mileage, and larger injectors raise lift-pump demand. Compare injectors for the 24-valve if you are replacing them on the same job.
