The Cummins 6596248 Genuine Rear Main Seal will replace the leaking seal on the back of the engine in your 5.9 or 6.7 diesel-powered Dodge Ram truck. The rear main crankshaft seal will eventually leak due to time or age. and there are several schools of thought on when to change it. Some don't believe in changing the rear main seal unless it is leaking, while others change it whenever it's accessible, such as when replacing a torque converter, clutch, or complete transmission. This seal is a genuine OEM replacement for stock, non-worn crankshafts.
