General Description
Get the most of your 1995-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke's exhaust backpressure valve with BD's BrakeLoc. This unit connects to the EBPV control wire that makes the factory valve into an electronically-controlled exhaust brake.
Included with this kit is the BD AutoLoc to maintain lock-up when the exhaust brake is on to ensure that 100% of the retarding force is being used in 3rd and 4th gears. Transmission oil temperatures will not rise as there is little or no slippage occurring in the converter in 3RD and 4TH gears. Note that, because the EBPV is activated hydraulically, there is generally a 2-3 second delay between the time the valve is turned and engine retarding occurs.
