The BD Diesel 1064047 is a filter service kit for the 10R80 10-speed automatic behind the 3.0L Power Stroke in the 2018-2020 Ford F-150. It gives you the sump filter and a reusable pan gasket in one box, the two parts you need on hand when you drop the pan to service the transmission.

This kit is for the 10R80 transmission in the Ford F-150 with the 3.0L Power Stroke diesel. Our catalog tags it for 2018-2020 trucks, while the product title reads 2018-2021. When those two disagree we list the narrower range, so this page covers 2018-2020; verify fitment by VIN before ordering for a 2021 truck. BD describes the kit as the filter and gasket needed to service your BD 10R80 transmission. If your truck still has the factory 10R80 rather than a BD unit, call us with the VIN and we will confirm the fit before you order. The 3.0L diesel was only offered in the half-ton F-150, never in the F-250 or F-350 Super Duty, so this is not a Super Duty part.
Why this part
Every 3.0L F-150 came with the 10R80 10-speed SelectShift automatic. Fresh fluid and a new filter are the basic service on that transmission, and having the filter and gasket in one kit means you are not hunting for parts with the pan already off and the fluid in the drain bucket.
Two things matter at service time. First, the 10R80 takes MERCON ULV only, not MERCON LV and not a generic ATF. Second, the drain-and-filter service is listed at 150,000 miles. If your truck tows, do not treat that mileage as a goal to stretch toward; service it sooner.
If you are chasing a shift complaint, know the history first. Harsh and erratic shifting on 10R80-equipped Fords has been the subject of at least five class-action lawsuits, and those complaints are often improved with PCM/TCM reflashes. The 10R80 has also had several recall campaigns, including 18V213, 18V214, 20V197, 22V188/25V169 and 26V402. Check NHTSA for open recalls on your VIN before you spend money on parts to chase a shift problem; the recall fixes are free.
