Fitment

Banks lists the 42799 for 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins, and it accommodates the stock mounting points. The 2025 refresh changed the engine, adding glow plugs and a new intake manifold, so do not assume 2019-2024 intake parts like this one fit a 2025 or newer truck. Verify fitment by VIN. Why this part

On this truck the factory intake elbow doubles as the grid-heater housing, right in the air path to the intake manifold. The Monster-Ram takes that restriction out. Banks rates it at over 88.3% more flow than stock, with a larger, less restrictive path that improves the flow of oxygen-rich air into the cylinders and optimizes air pressure and distribution. Banks says it raises boost without increasing turbine drive pressure, which shows up as quicker throttle response and better fuel economy.

Banks also calls the factory grid heater failure-prone and says swapping it for the Banks high-flow billet intake plate prevents severe engine damage. The failure shops watch for on the 6.7L is the grid-heater stud or bolt loosening and dropping into the intake manifold, which can do catastrophic damage to the No. 6 cylinder. That pattern is strongest on 2007.5-2018 engines and very rare on 2019 and newer, but shops still inspect for it.

The 42799 does not leave you without a cold-start aid. Banks fits a 750 W high-flow coil heater, upgradable to 2,250 W with its Triple Heater kit, and because the heater comes in the box with the elbow, you install them as one matched set. Banks lists the Monster-Ram as 50-state emissions compliant under CARB EO D-161-170 and calls it the only 50-state emissions-compliant RAM intake elbow.
