The Banks 42810 Engine Cover with Revolver Billet Oil Cap is an engine cover for 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500/3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins that already run a Banks Monster-Ram intake. It hides the factory EGR cooler and crossover tube so the engine bay looks finished, and it swaps the plastic factory oil cap for a CNC-machined billet one.
Fitment
Fits 2007.5-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups with the 6.7L Cummins. The 2007.5-2009 trucks were sold as Dodge Ram. Only fits trucks with a Banks Monster-Ram intake installed. If your truck still has the factory intake, this cover is not for it yet. This listing is the EGR-engine version (SKU 42810), made for engines that still carry the factory EGR cooler and crossover tube. Why this part
Once a Monster-Ram is on the truck, the rest of the engine bay should look as finished as the intake. Banks designed this OEM-plus cover around the Monster-Ram intake system to conceal the factory EGR cooler and crossover tube, so the top of the engine looks like it came from the factory that way. It is a cover only. The EGR cooler and crossover tube stay in place and keep working underneath it.
The cover is built for the heat on top of a 6.7L. It is made from glass-fiber reinforced polymer that resists heat, oil, fuel and solvents. Banks rates it to withstand 482°F, which is over 50% more heat resistance than the factory Cummins cover, and it carries a UL94 V-0 flame-retardant rating.
The oil cap is the other half of the kit. The factory cap is plastic and failure-prone. The Banks Revolver Billet Oil Cap is precision CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and matte-black anodized. It turns on a 12-position cam-over ratchet, so it is impossible to over-tighten and the Banks logo is easy to line up every time you close it.
