This is the 2-inch shank version of the B&W Tow & Stow, part number TS10038B, with a 5-inch drop. It's for trucks with a standard 2-inch receiver. One ball mount sets several heights, flips for rise, and swaps between ball sizes with a pin, so it can follow you from trailer to trailer.

Fitment

The shank on this ball mount is 2 inches, so it goes in a 2-inch receiver. It is not the right part for a 2.5-inch receiver; B&W builds the Tow & Stow with a 2.5-inch shank for those. Fit here comes down to receiver size, not engine or model year, so a half-ton and an HD truck can run the same mount if both have a 2-inch receiver. Verify by VIN or call us if you're not sure which receiver your truck has.

Why this part

Level towing is the first job. Pull two pins and the Tow & Stow gives you multiple height options; turn it upside down in the receiver and the same mount gives you rise positions. That matters when the trailer you hook to today sits at a different height than the one you pulled last week.

Ball size is the second. B&W says the Tow & Stow can accommodate all your trailer coupler sizes; you pull the front pin and dial in the ball you need instead of carrying a bucket of ball mounts around in the bed. Our other hitches include more B&W ball mounts if you need a different shank or drop.

The third is what happens when you aren't towing. Instead of leaving a ball mount sticking out to catch your shins and the garage door, you stow the Tow & Stow behind the bumper. And while it's locked onto your receiver, the swing arm can't be removed; a slide pin keeps the swing arm attached to the hitch.

What you get

This listing carries seven Tow & Stow part numbers:

  • TS10038B
  • TS10048B
  • TS10037B
  • TS10048BB
  • TS10037BB
  • TS10048C
  • TS10037C

Each one is also offered paired with TS51230, shown in the options as the part number plus TS51230. The part numbers differ in configuration, so tell us the coupler sizes on your trailers and we'll point you to the right one.

About B&W Trailer Hitches

B&W Trailer Hitches builds its hitches in the USA and is still headquartered in Humboldt, Kansas, the town where the company began in 1987. Joe Works started handing ownership to the employees in 2007, and the company is employee-owned today. Its line runs from the Turnoverball gooseneck and Companion fifth wheel to Tow & Stow ball mounts.

Frequently asked questions

Will this fit a 2.5-inch receiver?

No. This ball mount has a 2-inch shank. For a 2.5-inch receiver, B&W makes the Tow & Stow with a 2.5-inch shank, and we carry it in 5-inch, 7-inch and 8.5-inch drops.

Can I leave it on the truck all the time?

That's the idea behind the stow position. When you're not towing, stow it behind the bumper so it isn't in the way of your shins or the garage door. While it's locked onto the receiver, the swing arm can't be removed.

How do I set it for rise instead of drop?

Invert the Tow & Stow in the receiver. Flipped over, it gives you rise positions; right side up, it gives you drop positions, with the two pins setting the height.
