The ARP 230-4302 Diesel Custom Age 625+ Head Stud Kit replaces the factory head bolts on the 6.6L L5P Duramax in 2017-2025 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD pickups. It is the kit for a truck making more boost or power than the stock hardware was built to hold, with studs rated at a minimum of 260,000 psi tensile strength.

Listed for the 6.6L L5P Duramax in 2017-2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD pickups. ARP's original description of this kit was written for 2017-2021 L5P trucks, and the current listing runs through 2025, so verify fitment by VIN on a 2022 or newer truck or call us before you order. This kit is for the L5P only. A 2001-2016 Duramax (LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM or LML) takes a different ARP head stud kit.
Why this part
Head bolts stretch, and some break. This kit replaces stretched or broken head bolts with studs, and ARP aimed it at owners who need an extra-strong head stud: trucks running big boost or a high-horsepower nitrous setup. If you are adding power to an L5P and want the top end clamped down to match, this is the kit ARP builds for that job.
ARP offers its Duramax head studs as a standard kit or a Custom Age 625+ kit, and this is the Custom Age 625+ version. The studs carry a minimum rating of 260,000 psi tensile strength. ARP rolls the threads after heat treatment, which gives the studs their maximum fatigue strength. Each stud is centerless ground so it is concentric, and the ends are broached to make installation easier. The finish is black oxide, and the studs are a direct-fit replacement for the factory head bolts.
