Listed for 2017-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD with the 6.6L L5P Duramax. Our engine tag reads 2017 to current, but the title stops at 2024, so we go by 2017-2024; verify fitment by VIN. If yours is a 2024, call us before you order. The 2024 L5P injectors are revised from 2017-2023, and the ECM carries injector-specific flow data, so replacements must be matched to the 2024 engine and coded to it. The set comes in six part numbers in the variant selector: E02 10701, E02 10706, E02 10708, E02 10710, E02 10718 and E02 10720. For injector sizing, contact us before you order.

Why this part

Injectors are not a common failure on the L5P. When they do wear, it usually lands in the 150,000-250,000-mile range, and contaminated fuel is the usual cause. Water, air from a mis-installed filter O-ring and poor fuel are the leading causes of injector and pump trouble on these trucks. Worn injectors show up as white smoke, a rough idle and misfires.

Rule out the cheap fix first. On 2020 and newer L5P trucks, the most common "injector" complaint is the injector connector, most often on cylinder 4. The connector usually fails, not the injector, and replacing it is the first step on codes like P0204 or P020D. On 2024 trucks, connector wear can set P0201-P0208 or P0300-P0308 and limp mode, and a new connector is the usual fix.

If you are building power, oversized injectors are where the extra fuel comes from, and how they are made matters. Exergy enlarges the nozzles using abrasive flow honing technology and hydraulically flow matches them to less than 1%. Each nozzle goes through four separate quality control checks before it is installed back onto the injector. All components are built and tested on specialized equipment Exergy designs and builds in-house. Every 100% over injector set is tested at multiple calibration points, balanced to +/- 1%, and shipped with a detailed calibration sheet. Exergy says there are no shortcuts.

Installation notes

Exergy says tuning will be needed for acceptable EGTs and optimum drivability, so line up the tune before the injectors go in. The included seal kit gives you new copper gaskets and O-rings for the install. On a 2024 truck, the new injectors have to be coded to the ECM. That is done with scan-tool Fuel Injector Flow Rate Programming, the same procedure GM used in campaign N232415860 to correct bad injector flow data that caused rough idle, RPM fluctuation and extra fuel use on 2024 L5P trucks.

Frequently asked questions

Which injector size should I buy?

Stock size is the straight replacement for worn injectors. The 30, 60, 100 and 200% over sizes add fuel and need tuning to keep EGTs in line and the truck driving right. Tell us how you use the truck, what else is on it and how it is tuned, and we will help you size the set.

My HP4 pump failed. Is a new injector set enough?

Not by itself. HP4 failures on the L5P are uncommon, but when one lets go, debris contaminates the rails, lines and injectors. The accepted repair is a full system: HP4 pump, eight injectors, rails, feed and return lines and high-pressure lines, with the fuel cooler and filter housing handled separately. Call us before you buy parts one at a time.

Is there a core charge?

Yes. Each injector carries a core charge, pending a 30-day return policy. Keep your old injectors so you can send them back.
