2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins Performance Modules

In-line tuning hardware for the 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins. The part listed here is the HP Tuners MPVI4, an interface that connects a laptop to the truck's OBD-II port. On these Rams, FCA's Security Gateway Module lets any tool read the truck but blocks writes unless the tool is authorized.

In-line hardware on the 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins

In-line covers two different kinds of hardware. A plug-in module works in line with the engine computer and changes what it does without reflashing it. An interface such as the MPVI4 sits in line between a laptop and the truck's diagnostic port, so software on the laptop can read the truck, log data and, with authorized access, write calibration. On a 2019-2024 Ram that last step runs through the Security Gateway Module. Tools that cannot pass the gateway simply fail to write, while the OBD-II port still reads normally.

Compliance and in-line modules

Every 2019-2024 6.7L Cummins pickup runs cooled EGR, a DOC, a DPF and SCR with DEF. We have not confirmed a CARB Executive Order for any in-line module, flash calibration or tuner on this engine, so ask for an EO number before any module or calibration goes on a street truck.

What the MPVI4 is good for

Reading codes, watching live data and logging a drive all work through the gateway, because reads are not blocked. Logging is how you catch trouble early. On this engine a weakening exhaust brake is an early turbo-vane symptom, and transmission slip and turbo codes are the signs that added power is wearing the 68RFE and the VGT.

What we carry

The HP Tuners MPVI4 vehicle interface, used with HP Tuners software on a laptop. It does not add power on its own; what it does depends on the software and any calibration loaded through it. For other interfaces and tools, see our tuners collection, or start from the Cummins hub.

Fitment notes

Software support for your model year matters more than the cable itself. Standard-output trucks with the 68RFE and high-output 3500s with the Aisin AS69RC use different TCM strategies, and 2019-2020 trucks that went through the Y78 recall run a CP3 calibration. Confirm support for your VIN before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MPVI4 a plug-in power module?

No. It is a vehicle interface that connects a laptop running HP Tuners software to the truck. It does not add power by itself; what it does depends on the software and the calibration loaded through it.

Will the MPVI4 work with the Security Gateway on my 2022 Ram?

Reading is not the problem, since the OBD-II port still reads normally behind the gateway. Writing requires authorized access, and a tool that cannot pass the gateway simply fails to write. Confirm your software and access cover your model year before you plan a flash.

Is there a CARB-legal in-line module for the 2019-2024 6.7L Cummins?

We have not confirmed one. No CARB EO for a flash calibration, tuner or in-line module on this engine has been confirmed, so ask for the EO number on anything you consider for a street truck.
