Call or Text (352) 722-5295Traction bars on the 2019-2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins
A traction bar runs from the rear axle forward to a frame bracket, so the axle housing stays in place under heavy torque instead of twisting the leaf springs. On this generation that matters most on the 3500. The high-output 6.7L Cummins is a 3500-only engine, rated at 1,000 lb-ft for 2019-2020 and 1,075 lb-ft for 2021-2024, and it sends that torque into a two-stage Hotchkiss leaf rear. On the 3500, optional supplemental air bags assist the leaf springs, and auto-leveling rear air is part of the Max Tow package. The 2500 is a different design: a five-link coil rear with a track bar, and an optional Active-Level system that swaps the coils for air springs.
What we carry
Wehrli Custom Fabrication offers universal traction bars in 60-inch and 68-inch lengths, Dodge/Ford universal traction bar kits in the same lengths, a bracket and hardware install kit, and the WCF207-26 bushings and heims for servicing bars you already run. BDS Suspension supplies its Recoil traction bar kit, listed for the 2019-2024 Ram 3500 6.7L Cummins 4WD.
Fitment notes
The 2500 coil rear and the 3500 leaf rear take different rear suspension parts, so match the listing to your exact truck. Bar length depends on the truck. Ram built these pickups on wheelbases from 140.5 inches (Regular Cab, 8-ft box) to 169.5 inches (Crew Cab, 8-ft box), so check the product listing for your cab and bed before you choose 60 or 68 inches. Verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need traction bars on a 2019-2024 Ram 2500?
The 2500 uses a five-link coil rear with a track bar, not leaf springs, so leaf-spring traction bar kits are aimed at the 3500. The BDS Recoil kit here is listed for the 3500 4WD only. If you have a 2500, check the product's fitment notes or call the shop before you order.
Should I pick the 60-inch or the 68-inch WCFab bars?
It depends on your cab, bed and wheelbase. These trucks run from a 140.5-inch wheelbase on the Regular Cab 8-ft box to 169.5 inches on the Crew Cab 8-ft box, with the Mega Cab and Crew Cab short beds in between. Check the WCFab listing for your configuration or call the shop with your VIN.
