Call or Text (352) 722-5295Shocks on the 2019-2024 RAM 6.7L Cummins
For 2019, Ram fitted Frequency Response Damping (FRD) shocks at all four corners. Their valving adapts to the frequency of the bumps each wheel sees. Up front they work with progressive-rate coils on a three-link solid axle. Out back, the 2500 runs a five-link coil rear and the 3500 runs two-stage leaf springs, and either can have factory air. The 2023-2024 Rebel came from the factory with Bilstein shocks on its Power Wagon-based structure. Along with the track bars, radius-arm bushings and ball joints, the FRD shocks are among the main wear parts on these trucks.
What we carry
The shocks here come from Bilstein, in the B6 4600, B8 5100, B8 5160 and B8 8100 series, with front and rear listings for both the 2500 and 3500. The B8 8100 front shocks for the 2500 are sold as separate left and right parts. You will also find a B8 5100 rear shock that Bilstein lists as an anti-wrap, power-hop shock for the 2500, and a B8 5162 series leveling kit for the 3500. Lifted Ram HD trucks usually get an upgraded shock, so if your truck is leveled or lifted, choose a shock listed for that setup.
Fitment notes
Read four things in every title: front or rear, 2500 or 3500, 4WD or 2WD, and with or without air leveling suspension. The 3500 with factory air has its own rear listing, and the 2WD 2500 has its own rear shock. Many titles cover 2013 or 2014 through 2025 or 2026, so check the year range, and verify by VIN when in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
Does my truck need a different rear shock if it has air suspension?
Yes. Bilstein lists rear shocks for trucks with and without air leveling suspension, including a 3500 listing for trucks with factory air. On a 2500 with Active-Level, two air springs replace the rear coils, so the shock has to match that setup.
Are the left and right front shocks different?
For the B8 8100 series on the 2500, yes. Bilstein sells a left-front shock (25-302226) and a right-front shock (25-335897), so order one of each for the front axle. For every other series, check the position in the title before you order.
Can I put a 2500 shock on a 3500?
Buy by model. The 2500 has a coil rear and the 3500 has leaf springs, and Bilstein lists separate front and rear shocks for each truck. Read the title for 2500 or 3500 before you add a shock to your order.
