2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel Leveling Kits

Leveling kits for the 2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel. The diesel's extra weight up front leaves these trucks sitting nose-down, and a leveling kit raises the front to even out the stance. Kits are specific to the body (DS or DT) and to the suspension (coil springs or factory air), so confirm both before you order.

Leveling the 2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel

The front of every EcoDiesel Ram 1500 is a short/long-arm independent suspension, and the rear is a coil-sprung axle located by links. A leveling kit works on the front. It lifts the nose so it sits closer to the height of the rear, which corrects the nose-low look the heavier diesel engine gives these trucks. On coil-spring trucks this is a straightforward job. On trucks with factory air suspension, the leveling hardware has to be built for the air struts.

Why these trucks sit low in front

It is not a worn part. Our research found no EcoDiesel-specific coil-spring failure pattern on these trucks. The nose-down stance comes from the engine's weight over the front axle, and it is there from the factory. That is the job a leveling kit is built to do.

Leveling kit or coil-over leveling kit

There are two ways to go. The Daystar kit is a 2.5-inch leveling kit, the simpler route if your only goal is the stance. The BDS kits level the truck 2 inches and include FOX coil-overs, so you get new front dampers in the same job: FOX 2.5 coil-overs on the DS kit and FOX 2.0 coil-overs on the DT kit. If your front shocks are still doing their job and you just want the truck level, the simpler kit makes sense. If you were planning to change the front shocks anyway, the coil-over kit does both at once.

What we carry

  • Daystar Products: the KC09113BK 2.5-inch leveling kit, listed for 2014-2023 EcoDiesel 4WD trucks.
  • BDS Suspension: a 2-inch leveling kit with FOX 2.5 coil-overs for 2014-2018 DS trucks, and a 2-inch leveling kit with FOX 2.0 coil-overs for 2019-2023 DT trucks.

Fitment notes

The 2018 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic are DS trucks; 2020-2023 trucks are DT. Leveling kits are body-specific, so a DS kit will not fit a DT. A 2019 Classic owner should match by VIN, since a kit labeled 2019-2023 is a DT kit. The Daystar kit is listed by its maker across 2014-2023, so confirm your exact truck with the fitment checker before ordering. Everything here is listed for 4WD. If your truck has the factory four-corner air suspension, do not order a coil-spring leveling kit; air trucks need kits built for the air struts. Check the RPO codes on your build sheet to confirm which suspension you have.

Frequently asked questions

How much lift does a leveling kit give an EcoDiesel Ram 1500?

The kits here raise the front 2 inches (BDS) or 2.5 inches (Daystar). The goal is to bring the nose up to match the rear, not to raise the whole truck. If you want more height at both ends, look at the BDS lift kits instead.

Can I level a Ram 1500 that has factory air suspension?

Not with a coil-spring kit. The factory air system on both the DS and the DT adjusts ride height on its own, and any leveling hardware for an air truck has to be built for the air struts. Confirm your suspension type by RPO before ordering, or call us with your VIN.

Will the same leveling kit fit my 2018 and my 2022?

Plan on buying by body. The 2018 is a DS and the 2022 is a DT, two different suspension designs, and the BDS kits are split along that line. The Daystar kit is listed for both year ranges, so confirm the exact part for each truck with the fitment checker.
