Upper control arms on the 2018-2023 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel

The front of the EcoDiesel Ram 1500 is a short/long-arm independent suspension: a short upper arm over a longer lower arm on each side. When you lift the front, the upper arm and its ball joint sit at a steeper angle than the factory intended, and alignment gets harder to bring back into spec. Aftermarket upper arms built for a given lift range are designed to work at that height.

Picking the right kit

Choose by lift height. The BDS kits come in a 2-3 inch version and a 4-6 inch version, listed for 4WD EcoDiesel trucks. If you are buying a BDS lift kit, read its parts list first so you do not buy arms twice. Plan on an alignment after install.

BDS lists these arms across 2014-2023 EcoDiesel 4WD trucks, but the DS (2018 Ram 1500 and 2019 Ram 1500 Classic) and the DT (2020-2023) are different suspension designs, so confirm the exact part for your body with the fitment checker. Trucks with factory four-corner air suspension take different lift hardware than coil-spring trucks, so check yours before ordering.

The BDS arms here are made for 2-3 inch and 4-6 inch lifts. Whether a leveled truck needs them depends on the kit and how much height you add, so check the leveling kit's instructions or call us before ordering.

Will new upper arms fix my alignment after a lift?

They are meant to make it possible to bring the alignment back in range at lifted height. The truck still needs a proper alignment after the arms go on. We install what we sell at our shop in Wildwood, FL.
