Every EcoDiesel from 2014 through 2023 uses a Bosch CP4.2 high-pressure pump. The in-tank pump and filter feed it on the low-pressure side, and the CP4.2 builds rail pressure for the common-rail injectors, 29,000 psi on both the Gen 2 and Gen 3 engines. On this page that means the 2018 Ram 1500 and 2019 Ram 1500 Classic (Gen 2) and the 2020-2023 DT Ram 1500 (Gen 3).
What fails and why
The CP4.2 can fail internally and send metal debris through the rails, injectors and lines, starving the engine of fuel. Stellantis recalled it in campaigns split by model year:
- 22V406 (Z46): 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic
- 22V767 (Z96): 2020-2022 Ram 1500
- 23V263: 2021-2023 Ram 1500, per NHTSA
Warning signs include a fuel leak at the pump, excessive pump noise, a check engine light or Service Electronic Throttle Control message, loss of power, stalling and a no-start. It can happen at any mileage. Campaign 22V767 covered EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models along with the Ram 1500, since they share the engine and pump.
Recall first, no conversions
The recall remedy is a new high-pressure pump plus inspection or replacement of the other fuel-system parts, and it is the only factory-backed fix for the CP4.2. No factory-supported pump conversion, such as a CP3 swap, is documented for the EcoDiesel in the sources we rely on. That is why you won't find a conversion kit on this page, and why we won't point you toward one.
What we carry
The MAHLE G33616 Fuel Injection Pump Mounting Gasket, listed for 2014-2019 3.0L EcoDiesel engines. That covers the 2018 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. If the pump comes off for any reason, a fresh mounting gasket goes back on with it rather than reusing the old one.
Fitment notes
The MAHLE gasket is titled for 2014-2019, so it is not confirmed for a 2020-2023 DT; use the fitment checker or call. A 2019 EcoDiesel is always a Ram 1500 Classic, since the redesigned 2019 DT had no diesel option. Recall campaigns are split by model year and overlap for 2021-2022, so check by VIN which one applies to your truck.

Not one we can document. No factory-supported pump conversion has been documented for this engine in the sources we rely on, so we don't sell one. The recall replacement is the factory-backed path.
Which CP4.2 recall applies to my truck?
It depends on the model year and the VIN. 22V406 covers 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic, 22V767 covers 2020-2022, and 23V263 covers 2021-2023 per NHTSA. The remedy is essentially the same in each, so run your VIN and let the dealer sort out the campaign.
Does the MAHLE gasket fit my 2021 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel?
