Control arms on the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel

The front suspension on a coil-spring Ram 1500 uses upper and lower A-arms, with a coil spring, twin-tube shock and stabilizer bar. When you lift the front, the upper arm works at a different angle than it did at stock height. BDS sells its upper control arm kits by lift range, so the arm matches the height of the kit you install.

Wear and inspection

FCA schedules a front suspension and tie-rod end inspection every 20,000 miles. Many owners report that worn ball joints, tie-rod ends and control-arm bushings show up as loose steering or a shake at speed after a bump, mostly on higher-mileage trucks. A lift is the right time to deal with any of that, because new arms will not cure a worn tie-rod end.

What we carry

BDS Suspension upper control arm kits for 2-3 inch lifts and for 4-6 inch lifts, listed for the 2014-2023 3.0L EcoDiesel 4WD.

Fitment notes

These kits are listed for 4WD trucks, and the 2014-2023 range on the listings includes your model year. Match the kit to your lift height, not to the truck alone. Trucks with factory four-corner air suspension are a different setup, since many lift kits exclude air ride; call before ordering for one. Everything here is for the half-ton Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. Verify by VIN.

Frequently asked questions

Which BDS upper control arm kit do I need?

Match it to your lift. If you run a lift in the 2-3 inch range, use the kit sized for 2-3 inch lifts; at 4 to 6 inches, use the 4-6 inch kit. If your lift is from another brand, call us with the kit details first.

Can I use these arms on a stock-height truck?

They are listed for lifted trucks in the 2-3 inch and 4-6 inch ranges. If your truck is at stock height and you are chasing loose steering or worn bushings, call us and we will help you find the right part for your VIN.

Do these fit a 2WD EcoDiesel?

The listings are for 4WD trucks. Call us with your VIN before ordering for a 2WD truck.
