Ram reshaped the headlight housings at the 2013 refresh, so EcoDiesel trucks use the 2013-2018 lamp, the same one the 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic carries. Within that body there are three factory types. The quad halogen lamp uses an H11 low beam and a 9005 high beam in two clear reflector bowls and shows up on Tradesman, Express, SLT and Big Horn trucks. The bi-function projector halogen lamp, with a round lens and LED turn-signal and running-light accents, came on Sport, Laramie, Longhorn and Limited. A dual-beam single-bulb reflector rounds out the list and is less common.
Why owners replace them
Light output is the usual reason. Many owners with halogen quad lamps say the low beams are dim and look for something better. Others want a different face on the truck: a black or chrome housing, a halo ring, or an LED plank light bar. The research doesn't show a common housing failure for these years, so this is mostly an upgrade decision.
Bulb swap, housing or full assembly
The documented upgrade paths are plug-in LED bulbs matched to quad or projector lamps, OEM-style projector housings, and complete aftermarket projector assemblies made for 2013-2018 trucks. A bulb swap keeps your factory housing. A complete assembly replaces the whole lamp and changes how the front of the truck looks. Everything on this page is a complete assembly.

Fitment notes
Order by your factory lamp type and the 2013-2018 body; lamps from 2009-2012 trucks and from the 2019 and newer DT Ram 1500 do not interchange. To check your type, count the bulb sockets on the back of the housing: two means quad, one means projector or dual-beam. Several part numbers here share a finish, so read each listing's fitment line to see whether it is built for quad or projector trucks. What bulbs does the factory quad headlight use?

Can I put projector headlights on a quad-lamp Tradesman or Big Horn?
Complete aftermarket projector assemblies are made for 2013-2018 trucks, and they replace the whole lamp rather than just the bulbs. Assemblies are matched to the factory lamp type, so choose the version listed for your truck and confirm on the product page before you order.
What's the difference between AlphaRex Pro, Luxx and Nova?
