Call or Text (352) 722-5295Fuel lines on the 2014-2017 Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel
Fuel on the EcoDiesel lives in two pressure worlds. On the low-pressure side, the electric in-tank lift pump pushes fuel through the supply line to the engine-mounted filter and water separator, and return lines carry excess fuel back. On the high-pressure side, the Bosch CP4.2 builds up to 2,000 bar, about 29,000 psi, and feeds two rails and the solenoid injectors. Lines and fittings on that side leave no room for a guess on thread size, pitch or seating.
What goes wrong
The big line problem on this engine is contamination after a CP4.2 failure. NHTSA recall 22V-406, FCA campaign Z46, covers 2014-2019 Ram 1500 EcoDiesels for pump failures that shed metal debris into the rails, injectors and return lines. The dealer procedure inspects and replaces contaminated components rather than just the pump. If your pump let go outside the recall, use the same logic: any line you plan to reuse should be checked for debris first.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
Most EcoDiesel owners never need to touch the factory supply lines. The Fleece PowerFlo drop-in lift pump keeps the factory lines with no cutting or splicing, and its outlets accept -8 O-ring fittings if you later run aftermarket plumbing. The parts on this page are for repair and custom work: oversized universal injection lines, AN adapter fittings, and caps and tees for rail and line jobs.
What we carry
Dynomite Diesel universal high-pressure oversized injection lines, offered in multiple lengths. Exergy Performance high-pressure fittings: the 1-008-003 M14x1.5 three-way tee, the 1-018-043 M14x1.5 plug and nut rail cap, and the 1-018-149 and 1-018-148 M12x1.5 high-flow supply fittings that adapt to -8AN and -6AN.
Fitment notes
These are universal parts filtered to the Ram 1500 3.0L EcoDiesel page, not direct-fit factory replacements, and they are not for heavy-duty Rams. Exergy names its M12x1.5 supply fittings for the Bosch CP3. The EcoDiesel uses a CP4.2, so confirm the port thread on your pump before you order. Measure for length on the Dynomite lines, and match thread size and pitch, M14x1.5 or M12x1.5, on every fitting. When in doubt, verify by VIN and call us.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need new fuel lines after a CP4.2 failure on my EcoDiesel?
Possibly. After a CP4.2 failure the supply and return lines can carry metal debris, and recall Z46 includes inspecting and replacing contaminated fuel system components. Have every line checked before it goes back into service.
Will a Fleece lift pump make me cut or splice fuel lines?
No. Fleece's PowerFlo for the 2014-2019 EcoDiesel keeps the factory lines with no cutting or splicing. Its outlets also accept -8 O-ring fittings if you want to plumb aftermarket lines later.
Are these lines and fittings direct-fit for the EcoDiesel?
No. The Dynomite lines and Exergy fittings are universal high-pressure parts. Check the length, thread size and pitch for your exact job, and confirm the CP3-named supply fittings match your pump's port before ordering.
