Unlock and licensing steps differ by tuning platform, so your tuner tells you what your VIN needs. On this truck, licenses split at 2013, when pickups moved from the NOx adsorber to SCR with DEF.

Before you tune
Know what you can change. The ECM is tunable on 68RFE, G56 and Aisin trucks, but the Aisin AS69RC transmission computer is encrypted. Keep the calibration conservative: high-performance tunes clog the DPF, which shows up as frequent regens and DPF-full warnings. A tow or economy calibration with every emissions device active is the target, and owners in CARB states should ask for an EO number for their model year.
Fitment notes
Listed for 2010-2018 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups with the 6.7L Cummins. Chassis cabs share the engine, but check them separately. Verify by VIN.

What else do I need besides the MPVI4?
A calibration licensed to your VIN and ECM, written for your side of the 2013 split. On a 3500 with the Aisin, that calibration covers the engine only, because the Aisin transmission computer is encrypted.
