Call or Text (352) 722-5295Fuel lines on the 2010-2018 Ram 6.7L Cummins
On the 6.7L Cummins, the low-pressure side runs from the in-tank lift pump through the filters to the Bosch CP3. The CP3 builds pressure into a common rail at up to 26,000 psi, and individual high-pressure injection lines carry fuel from the rail to each cylinder. Those lines are position-specific. Cummins genuine lines come as #1 (4935981), #2 or #3 (4935982), #4 or #5 (4935974) and #6 (4935976), all listed for 2007.5-2018, so one part number covers the whole 2010-2018 run for each position. The fuel heater sits in the filter housing circuit, and its connector harness is part of this system too.
What fails and why
The documented problem on this generation is the fuel heater connector. Recall 14V-635 covers 2010-2014 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 trucks built from March 27, 2009 through September 5, 2013. The connector can overheat and melt at the filter housing, causing a fuel leak and a fire risk, and the replacement kit uses silver-plated beryllium-copper terminals. Owners of 2014 trucks have also reported fuel leaks at the heater and filter connections and injection line failures, but those are scattered owner complaints, not a confirmed pattern, so diagnose before you buy. The signs they describe are a diesel smell, drips at the filter housing or a stall. Lines and seals also come up during other work. The rail has to be unbolted to swap the intake plenum or horn, so feed-line seals are part of that job, and some intake-horn kits require relocating the fuel rail feed line.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
For a stock truck, replace like for like: Cummins genuine lines by position, or a complete line set from Fleece Performance Engineering or BD Diesel when you're replacing several at once. If you're installing injectors, an injector installation kit keeps the small parts in one box. Upgrades on this page are about moving more fuel: Dynomite Diesel universal oversized high-pressure injection lines in multiple lengths, and Exergy Performance high-flow CP3 supply fittings in -6AN and -8AN. Those make sense on an engine built past stock injector flow. Larger injectors should be sized to the turbo's airflow with the manufacturer's input, and a lift pump upgrade is expected alongside them.
What we carry
You'll find Cummins genuine injection lines for every cylinder position. Fleece Performance Engineering sells its injection lines as a full set (FPE-FL-CUMM-6.7-SET) or individually for #1, #2 and #3, #4 and #5, and #6. BD Diesel has the 1050151 injector line set, the 1050157 injector installation kit, a remanufactured injector set with installation kit for 2010.5-2012 Cab & Chassis trucks, and the 1050371 fuel distribution block. Fuel contamination kits come from Alliant Power, AP57006 for 2013-2018 pickups and AP57021 for 2013-2018 Cab & Chassis, plus the XDP XD529 kit for 2013-2018. Dynomite Diesel Products offers universal oversized high-pressure injection lines, and Exergy Performance has an M14x1.5 three-way T fitting, an M14x1.5 plug-and-nut rail cap, and M12x1.5 to -6AN and -8AN CP3 supply fittings.
Fitment notes
Order lines by cylinder. The #2 and #3 positions share a part and the #4 and #5 positions share a part, but #1 and #6 are their own. The Cummins and Fleece lines are listed for 2007.5-2018, so the 2013 split that matters for injectors and filters doesn't apply to these lines. Contamination kits do split, between 2013-2018 pickups and 2013-2018 Cab & Chassis trucks. Exergy fittings are sold by thread size, so match M14x1.5 or M12x1.5 to the port you're working on. If you're planning an intake-horn swap, plan on rail and feed-line seals too. Chassis cabs share the engine but not every part, so verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Is every injection line on the 6.7L the same?
No. Each line is shaped for its cylinder position. Cummins sells a #1, a #6, a #2 or #3 line and a #4 or #5 line, and Fleece sells the same positions individually or as a full set.
Will lines for a 2008 Ram fit my 2016?
For the Cummins genuine and Fleece lines on this page, yes. They're listed for 2007.5-2018 6.7L Cummins trucks. Other fuel parts, like injectors and contamination kits, do split by year, so check each part's fitment on its product page.
Is my fuel heater connector covered by a recall?
If your truck is a 2010-2014 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500 or 5500 built between March 27, 2009 and September 5, 2013, recall 14V-635 applies. The fix uses a silver-plated beryllium-copper connector kit and an inspection of the heater. Run your VIN with a dealer to confirm whether it was done.
Do I need new fuel lines for an intake horn?
It depends on the kit. The rail has to be unbolted to swap the intake plenum or horn, so plan on rail hardware and feed-line seals either way. Some intake-horn kits also require relocating the fuel rail feed line, while the Fleece coil-heater intake kit needs no specialty fuel lines.
