Your 6.7L Cummins takes 12.0 quarts with the filter. Ram specified 15W-40 meeting API CJ-4 for 2007.5-2018 engines, and a 5W-40 CK-4 full synthetic when temperatures drop below 0 F. Most of the oils on this page carry the newer CK-4 rating, and the factory's own cold-weather recommendation is already a CK-4 oil. Drain intervals are 7,500 miles or 6 months on 2010-2012 trucks and 15,000 miles, 6 months or 500 hours on 2013-2018 trucks.
What oil has to handle on this engine
The DPF on every 2010-2018 truck is cleaned by active regeneration, which post-injects fuel on the exhaust stroke. Some of that fuel washes past the rings into the crankcase, so the level can rise above full and the oil thins out, with a diesel smell on the dipstick. Ram accepts up to 5 percent fuel in the oil. Idle-heavy, short-trip trucks see the most of it. Limiting idle to under 10 minutes per hour, letting regens finish at highway speed and running oil analysis are the recommended defenses.
Choosing an oil and additives
For a stock truck, run a 15W-40 most of the year and a 5W-40 synthetic if you see sub-zero mornings. The 10W-30 grades here match the spec Ram moved to for 2019 and later; for a 2010-2018 truck, stay with the factory grades. The 0W-20 oil is labeled for light-duty diesels, and the ADRENALINE R-Series oils are labeled as racing oils. Stabilizers and friction reducers are owner choices on top of a correct base oil, not a substitute for one. If you just rebuilt the engine, Lucas TB Zinc Plus is sold as an engine break-in additive.

Match the grade to the factory spec above, buy enough for 12.0 quarts with the filter, and keep 2019-and-newer oil specs off a 2010-2018 truck. Why is my oil level going up?
That is fuel dilution from regen post-injection, not a lubrication fault, and Ram accepts up to 5 percent. Cut long idle time, let regens finish at highway speed and send a sample for oil analysis if the level keeps creeping.
