2007.5-2009 Dodge 6.7L Cummins ECM Unlock & Tuning Cables

Tuning interfaces and accessories for the 2007.5-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins. This page collects the hardware that sits between you and the engine computer: the interface that reads and writes it, and the mounting parts that keep a selector switch tidy. Whatever you load through them on a street truck should carry a CARB EO number for your year.

Tuning tools for the 2007.5-2009 RAM 6.7L Cummins

Every calibration change on the 6.7L Cummins goes through one engine computer, and that computer runs the variable-geometry turbo, EGR, regen timing and 68RFE line pressure. An interface is how you read it, log what it is doing and write changes to it. Logging has value on a stock truck too. These pickups have no DEF system and rely on EGR and a NOx adsorber, which loads the DPF faster than later trucks, so being able to see what the engine is doing helps when chasing regen behavior.

What we carry

  • HP Tuners MPVI4: the interface that connects HP Tuners software on a laptop to the truck for scanning, datalogging and writing calibrations.
  • Calibrated Power / DuramaxTuner DSP Switch Bracket No Drill Mount: a no-drill mount for a DSP selector switch, listed for 2006-2022 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins trucks.

More options for this and other platforms are in our tuners collection.

Fitment notes

Before ordering the interface, check that HP Tuners software supports your exact year and controller. Verify a 2007 truck by VIN, since the 6.7L arrived mid-year and early 2007s had the 5.9L. Any calibration loaded on a street truck should carry an EO number for that year, and EO coverage is listed part number by part number.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MPVI4 a tuner on its own?

It is the hardware interface. The calibration you load through it is what changes how the truck runs, so that file is what has to carry a CARB EO number for your model year. The same interface is also a tool for reading and logging the truck.

What should I plan for before adding power?

Supporting hardware. Head studs, an upgraded converter and valve body, and a lift pump are listed for these trucks alongside tuning, because the 6.7L head gasket, the stock VGT and the 68RFE converter are the weak points once power goes up. On a G56 manual, respect its rating of under 700 lb-ft of input torque.
