2007.5-2009 Dodge 6.7L Cummins Gooseneck Hitches

B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitches for the 2007.5-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins. These beds were built with no factory gooseneck prep, so a gooseneck goes in as a frame-bracket kit bolted under the bed, and the right kit number depends on your exact truck.

Gooseneck hitches on the 2007.5-2009 RAM 6.7L Cummins

The 6.7L Cummins trucks from mid-2007 through 2009 use the third-generation Ram HD chassis that started in 2003, and none of those beds came with a factory puck system or gooseneck prep package. A gooseneck on one of these trucks is a frame-bracket kit: brackets bolt to the frame rails, the hitch sits under the bed floor, and the ball comes up through a hole in the bed. That puts the trailer's weight over the rear axle instead of out behind the bumper, which is what you want for heavy flatbeds, stock trailers and equipment haulers.

Why Turnoverball

A B&W Turnoverball hitch lets you pull the ball, flip it over and stow it in the hitch, so the bed floor stays clear when you are hauling cargo instead of towing. That matters on a truck that does double duty as a work truck. Pin weight lands over the rear leaf packs, and air helper springs with an onboard compressor are the standard way to carry heavy pin weight on this chassis. Many owners also report that towing is where this platform's soft spots show, including 68RFE complaints about holding gears and DPF loading on stop-and-go trailer work, so plan transmission cooling and brake service around a heavy trailer.

What we carry

This collection carries B&W Trailer Hitches Turnoverball gooseneck hitches, part numbers GNRK1308 and GNRK1313. Each kit number is matched to specific trucks, so check the fitment on the product page before you order. For ball mounts, receivers and weight distribution, see the hitches category.

Fitment notes

These trucks were sold as the Dodge Ram, in ST, SLT and Laramie trims among others. Pickup and cab-and-chassis frames differ in width and drilling and take different hardware, and the 4500/5500 chassis cabs differ again. Your tow rating depends on cab, bed, axle ratio, 2500 vs 3500 and single or dual rear wheels; go by the door-jamb sticker and owner's manual. Most 2500 and 3500 pickups have factory seven-way wiring at the rear, so plan how you will run power to the trailer plug. Verify by VIN or call the shop.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 2007.5-2009 Ram have factory gooseneck prep?

No. The 2003-2009 beds have no factory puck system or prep package, so goosenecks go in as frame-bracket kits, and the B&W Turnoverball kits here are that type. Expect the install to include a hole through the bed floor for the ball.

Can I still use the bed with the gooseneck installed?

Yes. With a Turnoverball, the ball comes out, flips over and stows in the hitch, leaving the bed floor clear for cargo. Put it back ball-up when you hook up the trailer, and make sure it is locked in before you pull away.

Will a gooseneck kit for a pickup fit my cab-and-chassis Ram?

Do not assume it will. Pickup and cab-and-chassis frames differ in width and drilling, and the 4500/5500 differ again, so hitch hardware is specific to each. Check the fitment on the product page or call with your VIN.
