Call or Text (352) 722-5295Receiver hitches on the 2020-2022 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke
Ford rates the factory receiver the same for weight-carrying and weight-distributing use. On the F-250 with the Trailer Tow Package, F-350 SRW diesels, dually trucks and the F-450 regular cab, that is 21,200 lb of trailer and 2,120 lb of tongue weight. The F-450 crew cab is rated 24,200 lb and 2,420 lb tongue. The 3-inch receivers use a 5/8-inch high-capacity pin. Plan on about 10% of the loaded trailer weight sitting on the ball, and remember that tongue weight comes out of payload. The 6.7L Powerstroke makes 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft in these trucks; the numbers that govern a bumper-pull setup are the ones on the receiver, the ball mount and the door label.
Picking the right ball mount
Three things decide it: shank size, drop and style. The shank has to match your receiver, or the reducer sitting in it. Drop is how far the ball sits below the receiver, and the goal is a trailer that rides level. Park on level ground, measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening and from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler, and the difference is the drop you need. Style covers standard ball mounts, pintle mounts for lunette-ring trailers, triple-ball mounts for owners who pull trailers with different ball sizes, and heavy-duty mounts. A weight distribution hitch spreads tongue weight across the axles on a long conventional trailer.

Fitment notes
Look at the receiver opening before you order. With a 3-inch receiver and the factory 2.5-inch reducer, a 2.5-inch shank goes in the reducer and a 3-inch shank goes straight in the receiver. Check the rating stamped on the ball mount and ball against your trailer, and never exceed the lowest-rated part in the chain. Verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
What size ball mount fits a 2020-2022 F-350 with the 6.7L?
An F-350 SRW diesel has a 3-inch receiver with a 2.5-inch reducer and a 5/8-inch pin, so a 3-inch shank fits the receiver and a 2.5-inch shank fits the reducer. Dually trucks use the same 3-inch setup. Look at your receiver before you order.
How much tongue weight can the factory receiver carry?
On the F-250 with the Trailer Tow Package, F-350 SRW diesels and dually trucks, Ford rates the receiver at 21,200 lb of trailer and 2,120 lb of tongue weight in both weight-carrying and weight-distributing use. The F-450 crew cab is rated 24,200 lb and 2,420 lb. Payload can run out before those numbers do.
Should I run a pintle mount or a ball mount?
Match the trailer. A pintle mount pairs with a lunette-ring trailer, which is common on equipment trailers, and a ball mount pairs with a standard coupler. B&W makes Tow & Stow pintle mounts in 2-inch and 2.5-inch shanks.
