2017 brought the first all-new Super Duty since 1999. Ford built the cab and cargo box from 6000-series aluminum alloy and set them on a fully boxed frame of 95% high-strength steel. Ford says that frame is up to 24 times stiffer than the 2016 frame, with mid-rails 1.5 inches taller and an e-coat finish, and the truck came in up to 350 lb lighter. The cab structure is shared with the F-150. The 6.7L Powerstroke sits under the hood, but this page covers what bolts to the outside.
Standard exterior equipment includes two front tow hooks, four box tie-down hooks and a removable tailgate with a lock, plus LED roof clearance lamps on dually trucks. Options included power-deployable running boards, a tailgate step, FX4 skid plates and a spray-in bedliner. Width is 80.0 inches on single-rear-wheel trucks and 96.0 inches on duallys, not counting mirrors; with mirrors it is 105.9 inches, or 110.0 inches extended.
What wears and what to watch
There is no documented body-mount failure pattern on 2017-2019 trucks, so this is not a page about a known weak spot. What we can tell you is how wear shows up. The cab and box ride on isolated body mounts, and because the 2017 frame is so stiff, worn mounts tend to show as cab shake more than frame flex. The other thing to watch is hardware. Aluminum body panels need aluminum-compatible fasteners and isolators. Reusing steel-body hardware on an aluminum panel is the mistake to avoid.
Factory-style vs. upgrade
Factory-style exterior hardware for this body, like skid plates, tow hooks, running boards and bed steps, is catalogued 2017-2022 because the cab and frame carried over. Front fascia and grille parts are 2017-2019 only. Replacement body mounts make sense when the originals are worn or you are chasing cab shake. A flip-up license plate bracket makes sense when the factory plate spot gets in the way of how you use the truck. Buy exterior parts to solve a problem you actually have.

Fitment notes
Front-end parts such as the grille, headlamps and bumper are 2017-2019 only; the 2020 refresh changed them. Cab, door and frame-mounted parts generally run 2017-2022. Cab style matters too. The 2017-2019 Super Duty came as a Regular Cab, SuperCab or Crew Cab, and the S&B body mount kit is listed for Crew Cab only. Dually trucks are 16 inches wider than single-rear-wheel trucks at the body. Chassis cab trucks differ from pickups in many parts. Verify by VIN with the fitment checker before you order.

Will the S&B body mount kit fit my SuperCab?
Not as listed. S&B catalogs the 81-1010 kit for Crew Cab 6.7L Powerstroke trucks. Regular Cab and SuperCab trucks are different cab configurations, so run your truck through the fitment checker before ordering.
Why does hardware matter so much on this Super Duty?
The cab and cargo box are 6000-series aluminum alloy on a steel frame. Aluminum body panels need aluminum-compatible fasteners and isolators, so do not reuse steel-body hardware when you install anything that bolts to them.
Do 2020-2022 exterior parts fit my 2019?
Some do. Cab, door and frame-mounted parts generally run 2017-2022, and factory-style hardware like tow hooks, running boards and skid plates is catalogued that way. Front-end parts like the grille, headlamps and bumper changed at the 2020 refresh, so those stay 2017-2019 only.
Are body mounts a known problem on these trucks?
