2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Exhaust Manifolds

Exhaust manifolds, manifold hardware and gaskets for the 2017-2019 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke. The cast manifolds on this engine sit in the valley under the turbo and can crack from heat cycling on worked or high-mile trucks. If you hear a tick at idle or find a broken stud, start here.

Exhaust manifolds on the 2017-2019 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

The 6.7L Powerstroke uses reverse-flow cylinder heads, with the intake ports on the outside and the exhaust ports facing into the valley. That puts the cast exhaust manifolds in the valley under the turbo, where short up-pipes carry exhaust to the Garrett GT3788V on pickups or the GT3582V on chassis cabs. Each bank has its own manifold, so you can buy the left and right sides separately or as a set.

What fails and why

Factory manifolds on 2015-2019 pickups and 2017-2019 cab-chassis trucks can crack from heat cycling, mostly on worked or high-mile trucks. The symptoms are an exhaust leak tick at idle, soot at the manifold flanges and broken studs. Because broken studs are part of the picture, plan on new hardware and gaskets when you replace a manifold instead of reusing the old pieces.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

If only one side is cracked, BD Diesel sells sides separately: 1043006 for the left (listed 2011-2019) and 1043009 for the right (listed 2015-2019). SPE Motorsport offers a driver's side manifold as well. For both sides at once, BD's 1043008 kit uses 0.275-inch walls and longer studs, carries CARB EO D-553-17, and covers 2015-2019 pickups and 2017-2019 cab-chassis trucks. A CARB EO number certifies an aftermarket part as emissions-legal in all 50 states.

Hardware, gaskets and turbo flanges

Dorman sells manifold hardware kits in 70mm (675-223) and 85.2mm (675-224) lengths, both listed for 2011-2022. MAHLE's MS19916 gasket set covers 2015-2019 manifolds. SPE Motorsport adds CNC-machined manifold flanges with EGT provision and its own manifold set listed for 2011-2026. SPE's Emperor T4 manifold kit, BD's T3-to-T4 adapter flange and ATS's 45mm wastegate adapter are specialty turbo-mounting parts. Call before ordering those so we can check them against the rest of your setup.

What we carry

BD Diesel offers the thick-wall manifold kit, single left and right sides and a T3-to-T4 adapter flange. SPE Motorsport offers manifolds, machined flanges and the Emperor T4 kit. Dorman covers manifold hardware, Mahle covers the gasket set, and ATS Diesel Performance has the 45mm wastegate adapter. The rest of the hot side and tailpipe parts live in the exhaust category.

Fitment notes

Some parts here start at 2015 and others at 2011, so read the year range in each title before you order. Chassis cabs need cab-chassis-specific parts, and the BD 1043008 kit is one that lists 2017-2019 cab-chassis coverage. Verify by VIN when in doubt.

Frequently asked questions

What are the signs of a cracked exhaust manifold on a 6.7L?

An exhaust leak tick at idle, soot around the manifold flanges and broken studs. It shows up mostly on worked or high-mile trucks. If you're seeing any of those, call the shop and we can help you confirm it before you order.

Is the BD Diesel manifold kit emissions legal?

Yes. BD's 1043008 kit carries CARB EO D-553-17, which certifies it as emissions-legal in all 50 states. It covers 2015-2019 pickups and 2017-2019 cab-chassis trucks.

Do I need new up-pipes when I replace the manifolds?

Not because they fail. There's no documented up-pipe failure pattern on 2017-2019 trucks, unlike the 6.0L and 6.4L. Up-pipes join the manifolds to the turbo, though, and replacement manifold kits use longer studs and spacers, so check what your kit includes and whether your up-pipes and gaskets line up with it.

Which Dorman hardware kit do I need?

Dorman lists the kit in 70mm (675-223) and 85.2mm (675-224) lengths for 2011-2022 6.7L trucks. Match the length to the hardware you're replacing, or call us with your VIN and we'll check it.
