2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke Gooseneck Hitches

Gooseneck hitches for the 2015-2016 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 with the 6.7L Powerstroke, including B&W's GNRK1111 Turnoverball. Gooseneck towing on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

A gooseneck carries the trailer's front in the bed instead of hanging it off the bumper. Ford offered a gooseneck hitch kit through the 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Trailer Tow Prep Package, which adds in-bed attachment points and a 7-pin connector in the bed wall. The biggest numbers on this generation belong to the heavy trucks. An F-350 Crew Cab DRW 172-inch 4x4 diesel with the 4.30 limited-slip axle reaches 35,000 lb GCWR when it has the High-Capacity Trailer Tow Package; without it, 31,900 lb. The F-450 pickup tows up to 31,200 lb, a rating it earned in 2015 with a new rear axle, rear springs, U-joints, bigger brakes and 19.5-inch tires. Every 2015-2016 diesel pickup shares the same 440-hp, 860 lb-ft 6.7L Powerstroke, so the chassis and the hitch decide how much you can pull.

The Turnoverball and your bed

B&W's Turnoverball design lets you flip the ball over and stow it when you are not towing, so the bed floor stays clear for hauling. Before you order, know whether your bed has Ford's prep package pucks, since that changes what you are mounting to. Gooseneck setups also need trailer wiring in the bed; the prep package puts a 7-pin there, and trucks without it need a harness run to the bed.

What we carry

This page carries the B&W Trailer Hitches GNRK1111 Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. For 5th-wheel hitches, receivers, ball mounts and hitch balls for this truck, see the other towing pages or our full hitches lineup.

Fitment notes

Gooseneck ratings come from the truck, not just the hitch. The F-450's numbers rest on its 19.5-inch wheels and Dana S110 rear axle and do not transfer to an F-350 DRW. A 2011-2014 F-450 is rated 24,400 to 24,700 lb, so don't apply 2015 numbers to an older truck. Check the rating stamped on the hitch and use the lowest number in the chain. Confirm the GNRK1111 against your bed and VIN before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Can an F-250 pull a gooseneck?

Ford offered the gooseneck kit through the prep package on these trucks. What limits an F-250 is its rating: 10,000-lb GVWR and 23,500-lb GCWR, with payload up to 4,240 lb on a 2015 and 4,040 lb on a 2016. Pin weight comes out of that payload.

What does the Turnoverball do?

It lets you flip the hitch ball over and stow it when you are not towing, so you keep a flat bed floor for hauling. That is handy on a work truck that pulls a gooseneck some days and hauls material the rest.

Where is the trailer plug for a gooseneck?

With the 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Prep Package, Ford put a 7-pin connector in the bed wall, in addition to the standard 7-/4-pin connector at the bumper. Without the package, you will need wiring routed to the bed.

Why is a 2014 F-450 rated lower than a 2015?

Ford raised the F-450 pickup to 31,200 lb for 2015 along with a new rear axle, springs, U-joints, bigger brakes and 19.5-inch tires. The 2011-2014 trucks are rated 24,400 to 24,700 lb, and the hardware is different, so the newer number does not apply to them.
