Front differential covers on the 2015-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke

The front axle on a 4x4 Super Duty with the 6.7L Powerstroke is a twin-coil monobeam from the Dana 60 family, on coil springs, with either manual locking hubs or electronic shift-on-the-fly. The differential holds 2.7 to 2.9 quarts of 80W-90, and Ford's interval is 150,000 miles in normal use or 50,000 in severe use. Whine from the front end and leaks at the hub and axle seals are the symptoms to watch for. When the cover comes off for a fluid service, that is the time to decide whether you reseal the factory cover or replace it.

What we carry

PPE Dana 50/60 10-bolt heavy-duty cast aluminum front covers. The Mag-Hytec 60-FF Dana 60 Ford front cover, listed for 2006-2026 6.0L, 6.4L and 6.7L trucks. Picking a cover

Every cover here is built for the Dana 60-family front, so the choice comes down to material and features. Read each product page for what comes in the box, including hardware and sealing, before you schedule the job. Once the cover is on, refill with 80W-90 to Ford's capacity.

Fitment notes

4x4 only. Confirm your truck is a 4x4 and verify by VIN if there is any doubt about the build.

Frequently asked questions

Will a Dana 60 front cover fit my 2015-2016 4x4?

Yes. The 4x4 front axle on these trucks is from the Dana 60 family, which is what the PPE, Mag-Hytec and SPE Motorsport covers here are built for. Each one is listed across a year range that includes 2015-2016.

What fluid goes back in after a front cover swap?

Ford specifies 80W-90 for the front differential, 2.7 to 2.9 quarts. If the truck is past 150,000 miles on the old fluid, or 50,000 in severe use, you are due for the change anyway.
