2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke Lighting

Lighting for the 2008-2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty with the 6.4L Powerstroke, which right now means headlight assemblies. If you remember one thing, make it this: the 2008 restyle gave these trucks a front end of their own, so 2008-2010 headlights do not fit a 2005-2007 or a 2011-and-later Super Duty. Shop by your exact model year.

Lighting on the 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L Powerstroke

Model year 2008 brought two big changes to the Super Duty at once. Under the hood, the 6.4L Powerstroke replaced the 6.0L. Up front, Ford restyled the whole front end and redesigned the interior from the dash to the door panels. That front end ran through 2010. For 2011, Ford launched the all-new third-generation Super Duty with the 6.7L, so the 6.4L trucks live in a three-year window, and their lighting does too. The engine has no say in which headlight bolts in. The body generation does. We file lighting under your engine and years because it lands you on the right front end every time: every 6.4L pickup is a 2008-2010 truck.

Why owners shop for headlights

You're probably here for one of two reasons. Either an assembly needs replacing, or you want a different look and beam style than the factory lights give you. Ford already played with the look on these trucks. The Harley-Davidson edition came with blacked-out headlights from the factory in all three years. If you drive an XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch or Cabela's truck and like that darker front end, a black-housing projector assembly is the straightforward way to get it on your truck.

Stock replacement vs. upgrade

A stock replacement is an OEM-style assembly matched to the chrome or black housing your truck came with. That's the right call when you want the truck to look exactly the way it did on the lot. An upgraded replacement takes the factory light's place but changes the design, in this case to a projector assembly with its own housing finish. Everything in this section is the upgrade path. Whichever way you go, match the part to your year and trim before you order.

What we carry

This section is stocked with AlphaRex projector headlights in the Pro, Nova and Luxx series, each offered with a Black or Alpha-Black housing:

  • Pro-Series projector headlights: 880308 in Black, 880309 in Alpha-Black
  • Nova-Series LED projector headlights: 880310 in Black, 880311 in Alpha-Black
  • Luxx-Series LED projector headlights: 880312 in Black, 880313 in Alpha-Black

The Nova and Luxx listings call out LED projectors. The Pro-Series is listed as a projector headlight. Open the product pages side by side to compare details and housing photos before you choose.

Fitment notes

2008, 2009 and 2010 assemblies are one fitment range. That range is separate from 2005-2007 and from 2011-2016, so a light from the generation before or after will not bolt in. Trim matters for the look: Harley-Davidson trucks used black housings, and stock replacement assemblies for other trucks come matched to chrome or black. If you run an F-450 or F-550 chassis cab, or you're not sure what you have, check the fitment checker on the product page or verify by VIN with us before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 6.4L engine change which headlights fit?

No. Headlight fitment follows the body, not the engine. The 6.4L was only offered in 2008-2010 Super Duty trucks, so if you have one, you have the front end these lights are listed for.

Will these headlights swap onto a 2007 or a 2011 Super Duty?

No. The 2008 restyle and the 2011 redesign each changed the front end, so 2008-2010 headlights do not fit 2005-2007 or 2011-and-later trucks. Shop the collection for your actual model year.

I have a Harley-Davidson edition. What's different about mine?

Ford gave the Harley-Davidson trucks blacked-out headlights from the factory. If you're replacing one and want to keep that look, stick with a black housing. Compare the Black and Alpha-Black photos on each product page to see which sits best next to your grille.
