A monitor only helps if you can see it. On a 6.4L Powerstroke, the numbers worth watching are regen status, EGT and transmission temperature, and the stock cluster does not show regen status at all. Where the screen sits decides whether you glance at it while driving or forget it is there. A-pillar pods and vent mounts put the display up near your line of sight.
Why mounting matters on this truck
Interrupted regens from short trips are a documented cause of DPF loading and oil dilution on the 6.4L. A monitor that shows regen activity tells you to keep driving until the cycle is done, but only if the screen is somewhere you will notice it. That is the whole case for a solid mount.

Pick the A-pillar mount if you want a display up on the windshield pillar, or the vent mount if you would rather set a 52 mm gauge into an air vent.
Fitment notes
Pods made for the 2008-2010 Super Duty interior are generic across those years. Pods for 2005-2007 trucks differ, because the interior was fully redesigned for 2008. The SPE vent mount is also listed for 2011-2016 6.7L trucks, while the Edge A-pillar mount is listed for 2008-2010 only. Check each listing for the display or gauge size it holds, and verify by VIN if you are unsure.

Will a gauge pod from my old 2006 Super Duty fit my 2009?
No. Ford fully redesigned the Super Duty interior for 2008, so pods made for 2005-2007 trucks differ from the ones that fit 2008-2010. Buy a mount listed for your truck's years, like the Edge 18605 or the SPE S200121.
Does the SPE vent mount carry over to a 2011-2016 6.7L?
Per its listing, yes. The S200121 is listed for 2008-2016 6.4L and 6.7L trucks. The Edge 18605 A-pillar mount is listed for 2008-2010 6.4L trucks only, so plan on a different mount if you change trucks.
Which mount should I pick for my 6.4L?
It depends on what you are mounting and where you want it. The Edge 18605 holds a display on the A-pillar, up by the windshield. The SPE S200121 holds a 52 mm gauge in a vent. Check each product page for the display or gauge it is made to hold. The monitor itself is not platform-specific; the mount is.
