An aftermarket intake brings its own element. S&B intakes run a washable element and Banks intakes a high-flow one, while the factory box takes the Motorcraft FA-1886 dry element. So shop this page by the intake on your truck first, then by part number. The truck's year and engine alone will not tell you which element you need.

Fitment notes

Wraps fit filters, not trucks. The Banks 42650 is only for Banks Ram-Air filter PN 42158 or 42188, even though its title spans Cummins and Power Stroke years. Before you order, read the brand and part number off your current filter. Ford's guidance for the factory filter is to change it by the filter minder rather than on a fixed mileage; for an aftermarket element, follow the intake maker's service instructions. Frequently asked questions

Can I run the factory FA-1886 in my aftermarket intake?

The FA-1886 is the element for the factory airbox. Aftermarket intakes use their own elements, washable for S&B and high-flow for Banks, so order the replacement that matches your intake's brand and part number.

Do I need a pre-filter wrap?

It is optional. A wrap is an extra outer layer over the element, and the element still does the real filtering. S&B lists the WF-1022 for the 2008-2010 6.4L, and Banks makes the 42650 for its Ram-Air filters.
