Call or Text (352) 722-5295Bumper hitches on the 2019-2024 RAM 6.7L Cummins
The 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups use an integrated heavy-duty receiver for conventional towing, and the 2019 redesign gave the frame a fully boxed rear section. On a properly equipped 3500, Ram rates conventional towing at 23,000 lb in both its 2019 and 2021 figures. At the bumper you'll find standard 4- and 7-pin trailer plugs, or a 12/7-pin connector on trucks with the camera prep. Ram's 2019 chart rates the Cummins 2500 at 15,520 to 19,780 lb maximum trailer weight with a 27,000-lb GCWR, so the number for your truck depends on how it was built.
Getting the trailer to ride level
The ball mount's job is to put the ball at the height that keeps your trailer level. Lifted trucks need a drop hitch to tow level. To size one, measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening, then from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler with the trailer sitting level; the difference is roughly the drop you need. The B&W Tow & Stow mounts here cover drops from 2.5 inches to 9 inches, with 2-, 2.5- and 3-inch shanks, so you can match both the drop and your receiver.
Which mount for which job
Standard Tow & Stow mounts carry a ball for conventional couplers, and the pintle versions are for trailers with a lunette ring. The B&W triple tow ball mount puts three balls on one mount for owners who pull more than one kind of trailer. The B&W heavy-duty ball mounts and the Big Hitch Products adjustable pulling hitches give you more mount options in common shank sizes. For bigger bumper-pull trailers, the WDHK4500 weight distribution hitch spreads tongue weight across the truck and trailer axles.

Fitment notes
Match the shank to your receiver. If the shank is smaller than the receiver opening, use the right reducer sleeve, which you'll find with our hitch accessories. Check the rating on every piece in the chain, from receiver to ball mount to ball, and tow to the lowest one. If the truck is lifted, plan on more drop. Verify by VIN, or call and we'll help you size it. Everything for this engine family starts at the Cummins hub.
Frequently asked questions
What's the most my Ram can pull on the bumper?
Ram rates conventional towing at 23,000 lb on a properly equipped 3500, in both 2019 and 2021. Your truck's number depends on its cab, axle, drive and engine output, and each piece of hitch hardware has its own rating. The lowest number in that chain is your limit.
Which shank size do I need?
The one that matches your receiver opening. The B&W Tow & Stow mounts here come with 2-inch, 2.5-inch and 3-inch shanks, and the Big Hitch Products pulling hitches in 2-inch and 2.5-inch. Measure the receiver before you order, or call and we'll check it with you.
Where do I plug in the trailer?
At the bumper. Standard is a 4-pin and 7-pin; trucks with the camera prep have a 12/7-pin connector, which is also what an auxiliary trailer camera needs. If the bumper socket is damaged, the Big Hitch Products 7- and 4-pole connector socket is in our hitch accessories.
