From 2019 through 2024, Ram matched headlamps to trim, not to engine. The Tradesman and base Big Horn ran halogen lamps. Step up and you got a full LED reflector lamp. The top package used a full LED projector with Adaptive Front-lighting that can swivel up to 15 degrees, and the 2019 feature chart puts bi-LED projector headlamps on the upper packages. LED headlamps did not become standard until the 2025 refresh. That means two Cummins trucks parked side by side can wear completely different headlamps, and a part for one may not suit the other.
What fails and why
No widespread headlamp hardware failure is documented for this generation. The one headlamp issue on record is recall 23V-799 on 2023-2024 trucks, where the steering column control module could switch on the high beams along with the turn signal. That is a module problem handled by a recall, so a new pair of headlights is not the fix. In practice, most headlight orders on this truck are upgrades rather than repairs: a halogen truck moving to projectors, or an owner who wants a black housing up front.
Stock replacement vs. upgrade
A cracked factory lamp can be replaced with one of the same type, and any 2019-2024 lamp of the same configuration will interchange. An upgrade changes the lamp design. The AlphaRex Luxx-Series and Nova-Series are listed as LED projector headlights. The Pro-Series is listed as a projector headlight, so check its product page for the light source. Each series comes in a Black and an Alpha-Black finish. If your truck has factory LED headlamps, look at the AlphaRex 810022 stock LED headlight wiring converter and confirm on the product page whether your install calls for it.

Fitment notes
Listed for 2019-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups with the 6.7L Cummins. Halogen, LED reflector and LED projector/AFS housings are different assemblies with different wiring, so confirm your factory lamp before you buy. The 2025 split LED quad headlights do not fit these trucks, and these assemblies are not listed for the 2025 body. If the trim badge has been swapped or you bought the truck used and are not sure, verify by VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put projector headlights on a truck that came with halogen lamps?
AlphaRex lists these for 2019-2024 Cummins trucks, but halogen and LED trucks use different wiring. Check the product page for which factory headlamp each set is built to connect to. If it is not clear, call us with your VIN and we will sort it out.
What is the difference between Black and Alpha-Black?
They are two finish options within the same series. AlphaRex offers the Luxx, Nova and Pro-Series in both. Compare the product photos side by side to pick the look you want for your grille and trim.
Can I use the split quad headlights from a 2025 Ram?
No. The 2025 refresh changed the front styling and moved to split LED quad headlights, and they do not fit 2019-2024 trucks. Stick with assemblies listed for 2019-2024.
Will new headlights stop the high beams flashing with my turn signal?
No. On 2023-2024 trucks that is recall 23V-799, caused by the steering column control module. Get the recall handled, then upgrade the headlights if you still want to.
